Description
This was supposed to be a different set of falls entirely. The Blackwater Canyon has who knows how many different falls, besides its namesake Blackwater Falls. On this particular day, we were trying to reach two waterfalls on Falls Run. However, after some misread guidebook directions, a twisted ankle, busted up knee, and a punctured shin, this is where we ended up. Looking at the map afterward, this clearly was NOT Falls Run, but Engine Run, about 1/2 mile away.
By the way, to give you an idea of how remote and ridiculous a hike this was, Engine Run isn't even MENTIONED in the guidebook. Probably for a good reason.
And yes, we did eventually find Falls Run. And that is another story entirely.

Thanks so much! It's one of my favorites I've ever shot.

I love how cluttered the top is by greenery, not quite choked out, but definitely thick enough that when you see the waterfall's smooth flow, it adds to the photo. Plus, focusing in the foreground instead of the background to keep a clear shot throughout was executed perfectly. Nice shot!

Thank you! Kind of like you said with your shot, I looked at the LCD on my camera when I shot this and I actually let out a little squeal.

Hahaha, that is always nice to know that you have got something before you get to edit it

Good shot. I like the way the brighter green tries to pull my eye to the top right, and the contrast of the water with the rocks pulls it back.

Well that's a relief. (I have nightmares about joint and ligament injuries.)

Certainly. Probably because my sisters both have bad knees from playing netball, and my dad has had to have his knees and wrists rebuilt -- a long term legacy from his experiences in Vietnam. I kind of cringed when reading your artist's comment.

Ouch! Okay, I understand a little bit better now. Maybe I shouldn't be so graphic in the future, huh?

Well, I can survive a little cringing, particularly if it ends well.

Sounds like a hard-earned beautiful waterfall shot to me
Well done, and good find! I like the great depth in this shot, and the lushness of the green.

This one is absolutely amazing, one of the best shots in your gallery, great perspective, warm colours, everything looks very mystical, true enchanted forest, makes me looking for some fairy...
