Description
Request for of his characters, Jason and Gaiden, fighting each other.I hope you like it! I'm not very skilled in drawing battles and I'm not sure this is what you wanted, but I tried my best to do it and to highlight both characters.

Nice idea with the depiction of movement. I think it comes through the most in the character on the right. It's hard to show movement when you have a bulky armour to work with like the character on the left.
Fight scenes are difficult but they're definitely good training.

Thank you so much! Yep, it was hard to show movement on him, and I think they still look a bit stiff. Although comparing to my usual pictures, they show some action, and it's good
I agree about fighting scenes, I think I should go further and draw something more actually fight-like. I like this pic, but it looks more like a Mortal Kombat "vs" loading screen
Thank you so much for your attention and comment

Ahh I love the fellow on the right! Brilliant expression, love the movement you've captured and your use of the blur tool - it looks really effective!

Thank you so much! I think I like him more too, I had so much fun with his face and outfit This is the first time I do that kind of movement and use blur for it, I'm happy I pulled it off! Thank you for your attention and comment, Elexti!

Awesome! The blur effect really works well for a battle scene. I've always wondered how people apply it so well, whenever I've tried to do it, it comes off a little overkill-ish.

I got inspired by my reference picture, it was all pretty much blurry, but some parts were blurrier that others I think it's really good to show some movement.
Here I did the parts I was going to blur on a separate layers, and then used Photoshop radial blur on them, a really small one is ok, 2 or 3. Left guy's hand turned out worse, I think, but there I also used a bit of movement blur and finger tool
Even though I think the picture is good, I realized a bit too late that I got carried away and it's pretty much not what client wanted. I feel bad I mean, I think I can't do just what people want me to do. Maybe I'm not ready for this
How do you handle the pressure from commissions?

Thank you for explaining! I have to try that sometime, when, you know, I do an action piece.. Everything in my gallery is the exact opposite of an action pic.
I think you have to keep trying. Mistakes are how we know we're trying to get better. It may not be exactly what the person requested, but you did your best, and that's all you can do. The last commission I posted in my gallery, I was so unhappy with, I still am. I can't even look at it. I redrew the whole thing, but I couldn't find any decent reference for the poses, so they're kind of stiff and boxy. And the hands.
I got Kyle to redline the whole thing for me, since she's so good with hands, and even in the end, it didn't look right. So there was a lot of just sitting there and doing nothing with that picture, since I was more or less stuck. And I felt so bad because the person had paid me to do it, and I wanted to give them as a good as I could. In the end, I guess she liked it enough, she didn't ask for anything changed, and was very happy to see it, so it was a huge relief. I just have to keep reminding myself to keep practicing, and the next one will be even better! Never give up!
wow, huge wall of text is huge...

I think action is very hard to do But I think it's something worth trying
And I think having characters "just standing there" as they say is good thing too. The most important is to follow your heart and do what you really want, action or not.
Thank you so much for your support and for sharing your experience! I know this feeling, when you can't look at something, once I had months passed since the creation of the pic, and I still can't look at it So much shame. Hands are so hard
But you're right, it'll be better next time and giving up leads nowhere. I need to look in the future with optimism. Thank you so much
Sometimes I just fall apart like there's no tomorrow after something goes wrong with art. I need some good kick to pull myself together
I really appreciate all that great wall of text!
And more about sharing techniques, I use my photos very often for reference (too often maybe, I'm very depending ). I put the photo camera on something and set the automatic shooting so I don't need anyone to shoot me, or sometimes I ask my mom to help me
It can be a good help for average simple poses, this can be very helpful when you can't find just right ref photo. Maybe this method can help you?

My camera just happens to be the most difficult thing in the world and doesn't have auto-shoot. I've thought about asking my bro for help with self references, but he makes it more trouble than it's worth.
Next investment, better camera!

Ohh that's not good And those bros, why can't they just do something helpful once in a while?
I think it's worth it, camera can be of immense help.
And if there is ever something I can help you with, please ask me, I'll try my best to do it!
