The colours were very 'unlively' and blank, so I just made it black and white. yeah.Looking back at the mainland when on the cruiseway to Granite Island. About 1/3-1/2 way across I guess.

I'm not sure about this one. It's almost too symmetrical, but it does actually seem to work. Despite what you said about the colour, I think that some really soft colour could really add to it, especially where the sky is concerned.
