Description Uff.. I am done... xD I hope this is useful.
Since I made it in a way where you should work along.... you need some time. (you can just read it... but I am not sure if it is understandable then X_X )

Coloring tutorial

I was asked countless times, if I didn't want to make a tutorial.
So this is one of my coloring techniques. (I have more..., since I change them considering the mood of the picture)

It's a simple picture of Izaya that I use to explain things. But I tried to make it even so that a beginner has a chance to understand it xD' (so there is a lot of text xD' )
English is not my mother tongue... and I am bad at explaining anyway... but.... *shrugs* I hope it helps.

I love it so far, though i dont seem to have the same settings as you, in the Pencil B i don't have the setting "Bristle" could it be that have an older version of SAI or missing the file?

Actually I think you use another version. >3<
but I am sure you can download those brushes somewhere in the net and add them to the folder and the textfile...
(The best for you to do would be to look at a tutorial for customized brushes in SAI)

Thank you~ Overall, I like softer looking shadings especially for the hair, but that masking layer on the lineart step is new to me! XD Definitely something I'd try next time I do colorings~

Also außer den Fringe und spread effekt... und einigen anderen Effekten, sollte es gehen
Du musst halt nur rumprobieren wie die Funktionen bei Photoshop funktionieren >3<

Its just new pencils that I made.
you can rightclick an empty space and make the new pencil (and in the first part of the tutorial I explained the brush settings I used xD)

Awesome tutorial!!! you made everything so clear cut. Currently i'm a ps user switching to sai (my poor pc can't handle the massive ram needed for photoshop) I did one coloring artwork using the sai program, the program is quite easy to use but i've no idea how you acheive those insanely nice vibrant colors. After reading your tutorial i think i'm ready to give my next artwork a second try. THANKS !

Pencil A has the normal pen nib. pencil b has the bristle effect (where it looks as if the pen-hair is a bit... rough)
