SECOND EDIT: Due to the continued theft of this character even WITH watermarks on it, I will be putting on even more severe and invasive watermarks on every picture. I will not respond to theft by removing the original images as they contain proof in timestamps that I am the original owner and creator of these designs. Congratulations to those few idiots who have not only ruined my fan character designing hobby for myself, but for everyone else that I share my work with to enjoy. Thanks to them I can no longer risk posting clean art of fan characters or fan art in the future, if it's something I care enough about being stolen and having people taking credit for my work.I actually decided I didn't like Prince Novalis' original color scheme so I changed it up a bit. It just didn't have that glow that I wanted, hehe~

I hope you don't mind if I use this as inspiration for my art. And, don't worry- having your art stolen is extremely obnoxious, but it's sort of a badge that people think it's good enough to steal, and that one guy thought it was good enough to pay money for. I still am losing faith in humanity because of it.

Because when I first found Novalis I felt inspired and amazed at how you designed him the background and basically everything else about the piece... I could feel the love and imagination you poured into his design and I loved how much effort you put into making him who he is...
Now All I see is a bunch of text... Yes you've been ripped off by people stealing your work... yes it's painful and yes I'd feel the same way (I'm a writer by trade) But that doesn't mean you should just curl up and post a huge amount of Graffiti over your amazing work because of the thieves...
If keeping the integrity of your works means that much to you, pulling them off of the internet and not posting anything else is a more permanent solution.
But I ask you, Why would you ruin your own work in order to keep people from stealing it? I felt inspired by it originally... now I feel disgusted looking at it...
Isn't there a way you can let stupid people be stupid people and yet continue to honor the time and effort you put into your work?
You asked my why I felt the need to tell you about this... The truth is, I've seen dozens of great artists like you posting watermarks over their work which removes the impact their pieces have... I'm tired of sitting back and just moving onto another artist when I see people who were hurt do more harm to their own works than the thieves ever will... and I'm sick of thinking that I can't do anything about it...
You can take or leave whatever I've said as you will... I just wanted to say that I'm sick of the cycle and felt angry enough to try and break it... Thanks for your time and I hope you can find a way to deal with thieves in a way that doesn't ruin your own work... Peace.

Yeah, I feel bad for the creator for having their stuff stolen but to me it just does more harm than good to react this way... when You get so upset about other people taking your work that you then destroy it so that doesn't happen anymore... you're doing more harm to your creation than anyone who stole it ever could...
Better to have your children kidnapped than for you to shut them in the closet at home.

Well I don't have much of an appropriate summary other than it follows the adventures of my three ponies Stray Shot, Hubble and Swift Note. There is at least a prologue that I put up though.

He's been stolen at least 10 times?? People are so fucking disgusting. They have no talent themselves, so they claim others work to be their own. What a bunch of shitbags, why do they even exist?

For the most part it's a bunch of kids who have no concept of what copyright is, and when they go online and see pictures they think they are free to save pictures to their hard drives and use them however they wish because "finders keepers". They don't really stop to think that someone must have drawn that picture, and that it must belong to them. Those kinds of people just need to be sat down and have a talk with so they understand that by taking a picture they might very well have upset the person who made it. Most people are willing to take the thing down after I talk to them.
The reason why I decided to put up this huge disclaimer thing is because the last time he was stolen, it was very serious. Someone not only stole him, but they sold Novalis to someone else for a big sum of money who didn't know any better. It was over tumblr but they were never caught because they closed their account and ran with the money. I put this up to prevent that from happening again.

This is seriously amazing. I discovered Prince Novalis from the podcast 'your ocs suck' and when I saw him I was like 'Oh my god I wish I can make something like this but I'm not that talented.' In all honesty,your artwork is beautiful.

No problem,and I REALLY like your icon. Honestly I wish I could do some of the stuff you can,but I'm just not that talented. I'm going to be posting up my ponysona tomorrow so I hope you can take a look at her. It's not the best since I use bases and stuff but the thing is I can't draw ponies to save my life and I don't have a camera to take a picture of I could draw them,and I would use pony creator if I didn't get so much hate the last time I tried it. So using a base is all I really have to work with but I still try and make it as original as I can.
