This is my second entry for 's Parody Movie Poster contest (www.deviantart.com/journal/Con… ). This was such a fun contest! I wanted my second entry to be from a classic movie and I got so many ideas that it was hard to settle on just one, but I decided to go for this one because I really wanted to use Lottie (plus fun secondary characters need some love too; also doing a Bringing Up Baby parody with Lottie as the dotty heiress and Milo Thatch as the nerdy scientist (unfortunately the best match for the Cary Grant character) wasn't allowed per the rules).

I had a lot of fun doing this poster! I chose How to Marry a Millionaire because the idea (three women set out to snag rich husbands) seemed tailor-made for everyone's favorite crown-digger, Charlotte La Bouff, then the stepsisters were natural candidates for the other two roles. (I'd also thought about using Giselle in place of one of the stepsisters due to her attitude at the beginning of Enchanted, but decided she wasn't quite mercenary enough, haha.) Plus it was an opportunity to do fun 50s takes on their outfits.

So: Lottie as the Lauren Bacall character (even though she's in Marilyn's spot in the poster – no way Lottie wouldn't be font and center, haha). She's the driving force of the whole operation and I liked that this whole movie kind of ties into the theme of Princess and the Frog in terms of 'what you think you want not being what will really make you happy.' [spoiler alert] Though I also liked that she would learn her lesson and supposedly marry an ordinary guy but end up snagging a real prince after all.

Anastasia as the Betty Grable character. [spoiler alert] In the movie she ends up falling for a park ranger, which I thought nicely paralleled Anastasia and the Baker from Cinderella II (and is why I tried to echo her purple dress from that here).

Druzilla as the Marilyn Monroe character. This one isn't as perfect a match, but [spoiler alert] I think that her character could have a similar arc in terms of ultimately finding someone who'd embrace her for her supposed failings (I'm thinking someone loves her flute playing like they loved Marilyn's glasses) and also the initial attraction to someone who turns out to be a con man works with her more-nasty temperament.

Changes from original poster: The DisneyScope shaped more like mouse ears, the castle in the bg (though I kept the city skyline to make their outfit change work). Take a close look at all the text – it's different too!
