Description
Seriously, the Internet is full of dramatically illiterate writings, in both languages I speak. Even if we're only talking about people's mother's language (obviously not everyone can know English perfectly) - the majority of them still make tons of errors when writing. At least to me, the problem is serious. Here's another related stamp I made:

It's true, I guess XD Though it is not even my mother tongue XD
The history of English is indeed quite intense :3 It has dramatically changed since the beginning, from synthetic language to analytic one thank to influence of the Normans and Latin and other aspects such as isolation... it's a really interesting to learn

Not mine either. But I suppose that applies to every language.... as do its problems. However, English in particular is a unique case in the history of mankind because it's on its way to becoming a universal human language. It is being more or less modified by the entire world. I wonder what will be in 50 or 100 years or more. Its history THEN will be even more interesting.

Yeah. Though I doubt it will ever be an universal language. At least, for a very long period since it is also depends of influence of such countries as the USA and the UK. Well, we'll see :3

I think it will be, although it will positively take a looooooooooong time. It's not only about influence, it's the global web. Like, local websites are in the language of the country where they're based, but what about international sites like this one? Despite there are national communities social sites like this, the huge majority of people talk in English. What about you and me? Neither of us are English nor Americans, in fact we're both Slavs and our languages are quite close, but we still talk to each other in English. That speaks of itself. In general any time you don't know the language of the other person, you address them in English. So it obviously already IS an international language.
Other than that I can see how English words begin to infiltrate my mother's language, I witness how people (including myself) begin to use them involuntarily every now and then. Even official institutions. So I believe it's just a matter of time before it happens, be it for the better or for the worse.

The only time I don't really use correct grammar is in instant messengers Other than that, it comes naturally. Sometimes I'll slip, but meh

I use commas even in skype.... but there are people that don't even use full stops they just write make no difference between write and right which and witch your and you're and so on and they even make absurd mistakes like reservlar (for reservoir)
Yeah, you know what I mean. The worst part is that they have no idea where they are wrong, or just don't care. Most of them are completely ignorant

Using the wrong word drives me insane, especially than and then, and people think I'm crazy when I tell them the difference
It's kind of sad. I've seen non-native English speakers use better grammar and punctuation than people that have English as their first language.

Oh, yes that pisses me off as well. But it's a thankless job to point out people's grammatical mistakes. At best they'll just brand you a nerd or stare at you like you're an alien.
True enough. I am a non-native English speaker, guess you can judge for yourself how do I use the language.... And like I said, I see the same phenomenon in my country with our language, it's really tragic.

Lol, I actually thought you were a native English speaker You're using it very well!
I think if people care enough to learn a language, they want to get it right. For those that don't care, well... you can easily tell which ones they are.

I guess you could say I'm half native as I started seriously studying it when I was 8 years old Plus, all those films, music, computer games and stuff since as far back as I can remember
Most of them probably don't understand the importance of learning a language correctly - or of learning it at all for that matter. Personally I believe that it is not only a matter of culture, a language also develops the brain because speaking and writing correctly is a much more complicated process than most people realize. Because of this every additional language is also very valuable for both cultural and intellectual reasons.

I agree. People are spelling so badly and not using punctuation or correct sentence structure, I'm beginning to question if they're doing it on purpose or intentionally.

It'd be better if they're doing it on purpose. But sadly, I believe this is not the case. Most of them have no idea how bad they are actually writing. Nor do they care.

Both I think. They know they make mistakes, don't know exactly where, and don't care anyway. Some truly have no idea. Doesn't really matter, the result is still the same.

That is true. Knowing that, I truly hope that these types of mistakes do not become worse in the future.
