Edit: No way! A DD, my first one! THANK YOU!!!
Alcedo atthis, Eurasian Kingfisher, diving for a snack. These birds are incredible fishers, I've watched them diving on documentary films and it's a truly impressive sight. I really don't know how the photograph I used for ref was done. But the result is stunning and it was a pleasure to paint.
I focused most of my attention on the bubbles here. They took much of my imagination and inventiveness, and a few unsuccessful trials of the highlighting, until I finally got that look. Enjoy!

This is stunning! Simply stunning! Not onyl have you caught the shape of the bird perfectly, but you've also made an amazing work with the bubbles and the reflexions. This actually reminds me of the science books I have in my shelf!

I think painting in Ps is really difficult, and you did such an amazing job here! Putting all that work into the bubbles really paid off because they have great light and actually look like bubbles. The detail and colors really make the bird stand out well against the bland background of the water. The little fish even has great detail. Only thing I would tweak is another texture or color on the rocks because to me they look like potatoes lol, but maybe that's just me.
