I draw so much lately! Yay!

Scorpion. In case that wasn't obvious XD
I did that for the birthday of a friend. She is very fond of her zodiac sign, but also of actual scorpions. So I figured it would make a nice gift.
About gifts, as I kinda mentioned already, this is my lazy way into gifts. Why? Because I freakin hate shopping, I hate that endless wandering through shops and markets and what not. Besides, thinking of what would make a nice gift this time, is sooo much more difficult, time-consuming and tedious than thinking what to draw for somebody, not to mention the things I usually come up with are always at least a little bit.... debatable. So yeah. That's my lazy gift-making. But I practice it because I also believe it yields the better results. Hopefully my friends agree with me. But what can one expect really? I fancy myself in being an artist, sometimes. That's what I do. It's also how I express my affection.

About the drawing, I wanted it simple, without much background. When I say simple, I obviously mean damn tiny detail and insane reflections all over the place. Yes, I wanted it shiny and I specifically fished out a shiny scorpion reference. The thing in the upper right? Guess. I'll only say it's madness to draw stars with pencil, but it did turn out better than I had expected. Antares is shining for ya.
Oh, another thing. This is a more advanced technique. I actually made the outlines with a fineliner and then added some more here and there to make some shadows deeper. This won't turn into my default technique, but it's very good for arthropods and / or dark shiny things with a lot of detail. So I'm very happy with the scorpion altogether.
