hello! sorry to randomly butt in like this, but i wanted to give my two cents on the matter.

uprising sold pretty well, so i don't think money was the issue... i'm pretty sure the reason why they have no plans to give it a sequel is because sakurai just doesn't have any substantial ideas for one. the guy only makes sequels on his own terms and he doesn't like being expected to churn them out just because a company/his fans want him to. it's the reason why super smash bros. games take so long to come out and why he always says "this might be my last one in the series," or the reason why he stopped working on the kirby series altogether.

that doesn't mean uprising will never get a sequel (although i'm content with it as-is). it just means there's no plans for one, that's all. :P
