This is really cute. The wood in the background creates a great backdrop and I love the subtle texturing on the grapes.

I can't begin to figure out how you created the wood texture, but it's incredibly realistic, right down to the chamfered edges of the boards! It's the perfect backdrop for the lovely spiral. The bloom on the grapes is perfect, and I can't say I'm surprised you included it; your attention to detail is a delight. This piece makes me think of sitting out under an arbour in the summer (can you tell I've about had my fill of winter?), sipping a glass of wine, and enjoying some great conversation.

I also thought of arbors: flower- or grapevine-entwined with dappled sunlight and shadows, wine, a plate of cheese and fruit, maybe a tomato salad, some crusty bread and yes, the great conversation is a must!

Partly because you made such a different image from the rework; partly because the background is unbelievably good; partly 'cos the overall image is intensely appealing with its wonderful colours and flow. But the killer, for me, in this one is the beautiful shading and subtle bloom on the fractal grapes. They're pick-able

No, not a genius, just someone with time on their hands and an idea.
I'm really happy with the wood. It took quite a few tries to get it right and it came out just as I saw it in my mind's eye. That doesn't happen as often as we'd like.
I love the spiral in this one.
Those grapes have more layers than you'd think getting the colors and the 'frost' that red grapes have to look the way I wanted.

wonderful feel to this piece.
The boards for the backdrop are really good. I've tried to create something similar but, so far, haven't come close to the natural look you created here.
