What a fun take on the ying yang clipping. This truely has to be one of the most inovative, interesting ones Ive ever seen.

I like the idea to give these subject another than the usually look. I didn't like these task during the class, for me it was only a practise to try different textures.

I have a hard time finding textures using pixel formulae. I like the masking class lessons very, very much!

>>I have a hard time finding textures using pixel formulae.<<
You are telling me! I had virtually never worked till then with textures and even today I know only very few. And especially the Ying and Yang was a hard task because of the big areas where nothing happens. Yes the masking class is really great but it also was the first time where I was completly overwhelmed and felt very exhausted.
I'm really glad to hear you like it very much. I knew it would be an exciting experience for you too and I'm very very curious to see your work in future.

I'm going to need some time to play around with this new information and see where it leads me. Right now it's learning time but next will come playtime!!

I'm so sorry dear, I'm so far behind.
All your pics look so wonderfully easy. I mean, they don't look as if it would be a big strain for you to create such great things.

Ah...I know you're not big with compliments darling, but it's true. And please believe me, I really hate flummeries, I admire your skills and your work honestly. And I know Janet is thinking high of your abillities, so I can't be soooo wrong....lol

As far as Janet thinking highly of my abilities, I don't know that at all and when it comes to the fractal show in the UK, I truly believe that the only reason any of my images made it in is because they fit the show's criteria and theme.

Believe what you wants, darling, I believe I'm right with my thoughts. I really think to learn and to rule technically skills is one thing, but to have a great imagination and to create everytime new "old" things is another thing. And in my eyes is this the point which makes an artist. I'm sure if you keep working with UF you'll become one of the most greatest artist with UF. I believe the one or other of your images are already now copied and this speak volumes, no?

What do mean that my images are copied? By people here on dA? People trying to make my images?

Sure darling...lol
When I saw unHnu's last image on the fractal main page I thought: Oh a new one from Kat but then I saw it was from unHnu. Maybe it's mean if I say something but it's what I think. Ok, let me say I think he is inspired by your images. Can you live with these term?....lol

LaPurr In reply to denise-g [2007-02-05 08:16:28 +0000 UTC]
That's the right term. I never thought that anyone would be influenced by my images, though.

I had to learn there is nothing wrong with copy the style or an image of an artist one adore, and I understand the advantage of this, but anyway I've a bad taste in mouth if I see such images. On the other side I can imagine it's complementary for an artist to know his/her images were copied.

Nicely done It's interesting that yin/yang is effectively fractal itself: if one part is taken in isolation, then its own extremes become a sub yin/yang etc.

This one is superb. I looks very 3D almost and the design is very bold and clear. A nice little touch I noticed is how the top layer of patterns actually meet over the bottom circle on the Yinyang.
For you
