My version of this tale.
The Woodsman and the Wolf where one in the same. Grandma was a herbalist trying to cure his Lycanthropy.
Red arrived as he had bad episode and kidnapped Grandma. She rallys the villagers to rescue her. Only to find them first and learn the truth.
