What a better way to start the summer than drawing your character in a swimsuit? Looks like Vicky is a tad annoyed that the bikini that Chase bought her is a bit small for her. That was totally an accident, right?This drawing was requested by SolsticeHolt , and it was a lot of fun to draw. Gosh the last time I drew Vicky in a bikini was 2 years ago, you can check here how much I've improved since then:

Well going by the game’s mechanics it would likely take 1/2 the amount alcohol to intoxicated grass and fairy types and 2x the amount on poison, ground, rock and ghost types than it would take in order to intoxicate a human that’s of legal drinking age, however steel types would be unable to get intoxicated at all.
By that logic Vicky would need 4x the amount as she is part poison and ground.

I try not to... but it's not always easy. >_> Not that I don't agree (it's possible that I end up doing it anyway and always forget that I did. I really can't keep track of my own artwork).
But yeah that's a definite leap in improvement in just two years. Nicely done.

Hehehe, yeah some time ago I heard about the aqua bunny website and tumblr too. I love the comics and animations there, I definitely love the "I've Got my Love to Keep Me Warm" one you made, and another one I've seen once that was also a song with a nidorina and a bellsprout.

And if you DID mean that one linked above, uh, forget what I said! Nini and Bellsprout do seem to appear in a lot of animations together, which is funny because there's yet another that I may or may not ever get around to starting. All said, thanks! It means it's certainly working to some extent to just have a site that's more than, I dunno, fan art and official information that I don't keep up to date. Hard to be motivated to do the official stuff when The Pokemon Company doesn't give me much to get excited about. :T Maybe that's why I decided to make all the extras like comics, games and cartoons myself. (If I'm being honest, it's hard to be motivated to update the official stuff when the fan stuff is where all the real fun is, even during development!)
And I'm sure I mentioned this before but I do remember seeing Vicky a while back, I'm thinking about two years ago? She turned up in an image search but for the life of me I'm not sure what search terms I used. That said, back then I thought she was a cute design, I had never seen a Nidorina in a suit of armor before, but I don't think I made the connection it was yours. Of course now she's a Nidoqueen, but the design still remains cute, which I can say is pretty consistent from your work then and now. I like cute designs, I think you should keep that up. > : 3

It was an animation that was uploaded in a forum or something like that I don't even remember myself but it was black and white and it had a japanese song too. I wasn't even a member of that forum, I don't even remember how I stumbled into that post. xD
And yeah, I know what you mean, I was one of the ones who were just excited to see Mega Nidoqueen or Alolan Nidorans. But meh, they're not even in Pokken as well.

Yes! That picture's the one, and I like the b-day art version of Vicky, too. I thought the comment that asked if you preferred Rina or Queen Vicky was interesting too, though opinions could have changed over 2 years. I tend to have more of a liking for Nidoran and Nidorina, but that's more my taste for smaller creatures in general. And rabbits. If I felt like raising an animal it'd surely be a rabbit.
I suppose Alolan forms might have been something to write about? Eh, after realizing what we sorta got out of that, I don't think there'd be a lot of value, there. When all the dust settled, they're mostly just marginal model edits. I believe Sugimori handled them, which is why they don't look too different in most cases (obvious ones like Persian and Raichu aside). Some people might like the familiarity, but with a line as very straight edge as Nidoran, I can't imagine how (for example) giving the female one more whisker and a palette change would get people talking. They're already looked over as it is. Do people even remember Rattata or Sandshrew? Megas might have actually been more interesting, though. I might not have any strong feelings for King/Queen but at least I can see what that'd do for the larger part of the fandom, which is all that matters, and I can begrudgingly say the same for Alolan forms even if I have every expectation in the world that they'd be underwhelming and samey.
Finally, yeah, you did see that animatic, then. Hmmm, well, here's a spoiler: it's no closer to being done. : x

Hehe, I actually like Nidoqueen very much, maybe a bit more than the other two, but it's just question of taste. I think I'm the only person who approves of anything in that group anymore. Or maybe it's more that others don't remember they have that ability. I just approve everything though so I'm either the best mod or the worst mod depending on your POV (I didn't even want the job, I was literally given it out of nowhere, like waking up and being vice president of some company).
Needless to say, anything you sent to the group, I saw it because I approved it. I dunno, I think that's a good thing because some groups can be a bit more picky about it. I mean I get it, sometimes you want your group to have fan art that doesn't embellish too much on franchises people have an attachment to. Some people just want as-close-to-canon-as-possible fan art, and that's fair. But to say there isn't anything good when liberties are taken? Nah, I don't believe that. I don't think the fan club was doing that at all before someone slipped a moderator mickey into my water, but I can assure you it isn't now! The hardest thing is probably more being picky about my own art to put in, it all gets auto-approved without me taking further action and I don't really want to abuse that. ^_^; Also I'm probably a bit shy about my own art.
Just an insight! So anyway, I do remember the both of those, Chivy moreso because not only was it more recent, but dare I say unexpected? Like, I suppose if I drew A Nidorina much more like you draw Vicky, you'd be like "oh wow that's different". I can't though because I suck at it, my range is pretty much feral to slightly-less-feral.
The short answer to do I plan on finishing the Rhythm Heaven animation is... uh... "it's complicated". Too good to throw out, too unimportant to devote serious time to. I'll probably be wishy-washy about it for a few more years. : P
I do have Skype, it's probably "pdebarde", but I also don't use it unless it's like for a job interview. It's weird but for some odd reason I like the Tumblr messenger more, despite it being weaker (though it's a lot better about posting images). I always have that tab open on my laptop and I'm usually there everyday anyway with other people I talk to. I suppose Skype/Discord would be more convenient, but dang I really like images being posted instantly. It's better for memes and gifs/picture of cute animals!

Hehehe, I think you must be the best, your love for nidos is something everyone could see from miles away, hehe. I'm also shy about sharing my art in groups, I was actually a bit unsure about sharing my art in the nido fans group since I mostly draw anthros... And some art of Vicky can be a bit fansevicy admittedly. xD
That same drawing of Vicky got rejected from a pokemon group i tried to put it in, even if they had an anthro gallery section that even had drawings of pokemon girls in bikinis but according to them my drawing was "too suggestive", meh I decided not to fight over that and just accept. But it does suck, because I think I've been improving a lot with my art recently, and that was a drawing that I really wanted to share, that more people could see it, that's why I shared it in the nido fans group. But if you look at my gallery you would see that I draw Vicky quite regurlarly but I barely share it in groups. I love how you draw nidos though, I remember when you made those nidorina fusions, A LOT of people came to show that drawing to me, because I'm known for being a nido lover between my group of friends, and i was like: "Hey, I know the artist who made that!"
It's okay, you can take your time to finish that animation, just know that I personally find that one amazing, and I've seen a lot of your animations but that one really caught my attention, hehe. I never used tumblr for chatting, is the aqua bunny tumblr your personal tumblr? Because I only know about that one. And I'm going to add you on Skype either way, even if you don't use it too much, might catch you online someday and say hi or something.

Yeah, that's the rub I guess. I'm not above fanservice but I try not to go overboard. And yet I suppose in some ways it's there anyway (Mrs. Nidorina (the character in the "Love" video as well as Hamburger Biscuit and many many other works prior and since) doesn't HAVE to be so endowed, but she is because I feel like it fits the cartoon mom personality. That doesn't stop people from gawking at her, and I'm aware of it nor do I have a problem with it). This is probably how I got so many people into Nidos since 2004-06. >m<; Well, I'd bet about 1/3 of the total people, at least, possibly half. Ah, it's fun, though, I'd be lying if I said otherwise.
That said, no, not everyone wants that, and that's fine. Weird to me that you'd have a club with anthros in bikinis and yours is too suggestive. I mean I don't know the context, it could have been compared to others or they could have been too sensitive (the title is a little on the nose, with me though, I joke about things like that rather than take it seriously as I believe art should be fun, and it's also harmless). Either way there's a bit of inconsistency there, but here's the thing: if somebody didn't genuinely like something they wouldn't be drawing it consistently. Once or twice you can chalk up to a whim or maybe it was a request/commission/trade/wanting to be cool and in with the zeitgeist that day, but I don't think people draw things to intentionally be crass if they're constantly drawing it, save for maybe a troll who doesn't know when to quit. Sounds like appreciation to me. Eh, that's my thought process. I dunno I've seen too much to care anymore.
Bluh, I still don't care for that variations picture. The thing everyone likes the most is the thing I care the least about, but it goes back to what I said about people liking things that aren't very embellished. Well, the important thing is it didn't exactly take sides in the great Nidorina debate of "what kind of chimera is it". I did all the likely blends in an easy-to-digest cartoon style. Everyone wins. I wanted to get Nidorina's done to essentially be the definitive one long before someone else came in with one that was too skewed on "muh dinosaurs" or "muh rabbits", and that's coming from someone who loves rabbits. I can't complain too much because I did what I set out to do, and it worked. :\
Uh, yeah you could say the AB tumblr is my personal one. About as personal as Aqua Bunny itself is, but I'm the only one running it, and I don't have any others. I use the messenger as if it was a personal account, though. My sister sometimes reaches me with it and it's never about Nidos, if that gives you any idea. : P
You feel like this thread might be going on too long? That is to say, one that's going on that's mostly unrelated to a picture you drew. Maybe it'd be better moved to a PM at this point, at the least? At least then, everything else you get is on topic.

Hehehe, what can I say, Vicky is a good practice for drawing female bodies, I kinda suck at drawing men, humans and drawing ferals too, so if I'm good at anything at least, why not draw that, right? But I think they're just doing their job I guess, even if the rules are too restrict. I used to be a HUGE fan of Mienshaos, even more than nidos back then, but the Mienshao Fans group... Ugh, they accepted any kind of art, even some hardcore porn. I like looking at some NSFW art myself but, when it's a group for ALL Mienshao fans, it should be safe for ALL mienshao fans, I had a friend who was also crazy for mienshaos and she was a member of the mienshao fans group too. She was 13-14 I think at the time, so I couldn't help but put myself in her shoes and think: "Hmmm, that's the kind of art she should be seeing.". But in Vicky's case, yeah it was fasevicy but I don't think it was really that sexual to a point that it should be declined. I actually rarely draw NSFW stuff and when I draw I never upload on deviantart anyway.
Deep inside I always knew you were the brain behind the aqua bunny team, mostly because when I look for it on google I can only see drawings that were made by you. And we can move to notes if you want. I do agree that we are going a bit off the topic already (even if I actually like the amount of comments this drawing is getting, haha), I would still like to chat with you though. ^^
