okay. So. Let me explain.

So, Finished the background on wednesday, and since then I've been I've been working quite a bit on this scene. However, when I finished seperating the layers to animate, I thought, hey, let me try this in Adobe After Effects. So, it's taken a long time to figure out how to use the darn program, to get it to do what I want it to do, etc. However, when it came down to it, I didn't know how I was going to share it with you guys.

I mean, flash is nice cause it's small filesize, but the After Effects version is cooler. So, I made a smaller, less quality version for the web. It's about 3 MBs. I'd like to do more projects with After Effects, but for now, for this project, Ima stick to Flash.

Sorry for the delay guys!

BTW, I know that toward the end, Link sort of jumps while Tatl (the fairy) isn't really in his face just yet. I gotta fix that . . . . . Later

[Edit] I added a Flash version of this scene (without the pan) here: [link]
So if you don't have the download speed for this video version.

This is really cool! I've wanted to try animation before but I've never gotten to do much more than simple things. I like the downwardpan, and Link's waddle is very cute.

Wow, it's great! My Brother is following the progression of this project of yours with great interest as well. It reminds me of those old french cartoons from my Childhood, like Misha-Misha, or Maya la Bei. Very cool!

Misha Misha . . Maya la bei . . . I've never heard of them before. You wouldn't know a website with pictures or information on them would you? I googled them, but I didn't find out anything. I don't much about French cartoons, or cartoons from Europe in general. (I did see Triplettes de Belleville though, and that was really good.)

Say hi to your brother for me!

I LOVED Les Triplettes de Belleville! That's not at all the style of those other old cartoons though. Off the top of my head I don't know any websites about those old shows, but it was just the over-all feel that After Effects gave the piece. Seeing it in flash, it doesn't really look the same.

Yeah. In Flash everything look so flat. When you export to video, it gets fuzzier, more intergrated with the background. Hopefully when it's all done I can put it into video format.

The ONLY movie program on our computer is iMovie, and doing anything remotely resembling animation takes forever and a day.
