I believe that the Armadillo inspired plenty of videogame aspects and characters. Been too long since I've seen a real one (I was a kid at the zoo then.) , but I'm glad to know there are some that thrive in the USA!

The hair is used for protection from elements such as cold and also to keep dust and such away from the body.

Oh my gosh, I adore this picture! You captured the little armadillo so swell. He's so cute. <3 And you can see all the detail in his armor and such. Aw! The armadillo is my favorite animal, so I'm glad to see such a good photo of one.

Here were I work last year during the summer at Beulah Park they had the Columbus Zoo come out in a van with a few animals.

What an amazing animal. He looks funny but yet cute. You did a nice focus job Larry very good detail of his ...skin... he has no fur or ? Whtever it is called

I was within about 5 feet from him. Armadillo (Arm-uh-dill-o) have kind of an "armor" on their outside body. They dont have fur, but they do have some hairs or bristles on the under belly.
