Developed from the Polanian PZM-7 Smialy design, the M1912 Aster is the most numerous Gallian combat walker during the Great War. This highly mobile automachine specializes in melee and excels at infantry supports in breaking through fortified positions. Being completely immune to small arms fire, the Aster will generally crush any obstacles along its way that its massive hand-held electrically-powered mace can reach.

When not being used as a trench assault mech, the type still found use as an artillery observation vehicle and a scouting mech, sporting a 37mm general purpose Anti Tank cannon that resembles the standard issue rifles of the Gallian infantrymen. This semi-automatic cannon is highly effective against lightly armored targets and infantry but has slow rate of fire and poor armor penetration capabilities against heavier armored vehicles.

The Aster, like many first generation automachines of its era, is still seen as a highly capable and competitive machine but has begun to show its age, and the type is being slowly phased out of production and military service in favor of the newer, more capable designs developed after the Great War. However, as of 1930, many retrofitted Aster units are still being used in auxillary roles as well as assigned to local defense units in Gallian overseas territories in Southern Colombia and the East Indies colonies where the demands for modern combat vehicles are not as prioritized for dealing with the less well-armed local insurgency groups.
