I'm not mistaken. But I'm not attached to one cultures definition of the succubi and I don't consider one depiction more true than another. But I hear what you are saying, it is common with most depictions of succubi that they do indeed disguise themselves as other entities so they can lure in more prey. But it is debatable on what their true form actually looks like, as that changes with the source.
Some records say they are ugly imps, or are half beast or what not. But some beliefs never explained their true form because you never got to see it. And in some literature they are really just humans with no distinguishable differences.
And that's all fair and good with me, creative folk should be allowed to make up their own worlds.
