Hello. Lovely artwork.
However, is it just me or Tom Riddle is portrayed at the period of his life where he was deciding how he will be shaping the world and if the world is worth making a sacrifice for.
No matter how much I look at it, I just cannot sense an 'evil' aura from it. It is like a hero before his soul was immersed by evil and madness.. a hero who sacrificed his sanity for us all..
I can see a young man who is burdened by the heavy responsability about how to handle this fked up world. About how to save our world from those greedy ungrateful moogles who are like parasites, destroying everything good in their path (wars, world hunger, terrorism acts, the selfishness and the greedyness of the human kind...). About how to change the world to be a better place... and yet.. no matter what those moogles are doing... they are still human..
The choice he has to make is terrible.. either he ignores the wrongdoings of humankind and acts according to 'blind faith' of humans' good will and sees the world being destroyed.. or.. he sacrifices his sanity, shakes the world in terror, making humans fight for greater good, making humans to forget their selfish nature and to fight for what is really important.. sacrificing himself in the process..
And he makes a choice.. knowing the price for it.. knowing that he will need to pay for it even in afterlife.. he places a bet in humanity's best qualities and becomes a common enemy to unite us all..

Lovely, simply lovely, but I've come to expect this of your work. The composition is sharp as hell; professional quality without any doubt. Your font choice invokes a headstone, very nice touch. The overall mood is dark and brooding, just the way I love my men. The design is simple and yet elegant. Graceful, powerful, sad and yet resolved. The face is exquisite. Your choice of hairstyle works ideally to convey mood and personality. Likewise, the expression is simply executed and yet full of complex depth of thought. I look at it and wonder what he is thinking about in this incarnation. Another masterpiece, thank you for sharing!

I had improvised this for most of the painting process, so sometimes I felt a little aimless with where I was going with it, but I'm glad you liked the final product!

That is a fair statement. I appreciate subtle expressions. It is difficult to communicate a specific emotion unless it is stark in nature: pure rage or adoration, for example. Moreso to give a face a sense of complex emotion and deep thought. Managing such a feat through only a few visible gestures of media strikes me as the magic of art.
