Description
Novarian"Technus Cosmo-chronomagnus"
Splithian name: Chronomagi
1. Spires/Tail
Novarians have long "spires" that form a tail behind them. These spires consist of many fibers that direct ambient energy into their bodies for sustenance. These spires are usually a light blue or purple, but can be other colors as well. Because of the appearance of the glowing tail, people quite frequently mistake Novarians for comets.
2. Leaflets
Surrounding a novarian's body are several protrusions. These can be released at will and replaced with nearly any object.
3. Findings
When a novarian finds an interesting piece of debris, they will remove a leaflet and replace it with the item they found. This is considered a status symbol among many. Some novarians will have no leaflets left; only random items. When they run out of room, some will add new items to their face as well.
4. Head Injury
Being creatures of deep space, novarians are often bombarded with asteroids and other foreign bodies. Many of them have had severe head injuries in the past and show parts of their inner gears in these areas. After a bad head injury, many experience bouts of sleeping for extended periods of time.
5. Shared Spires
A lot of novarians will replace their leaflets with shed spires from another novarian they are particularly close to (usually their mate).
6. Eye
The eyes on a novarian have very strong metal lids for protection.
7. Marking
Many novarians have markings.
These odd beings were first observed by lost Splithian merchant ships near the Platform Nexus, which connects Splithia to the Popstarian Universe. They recorded these creatures, which they associated with comets, in notebooks and scrolls and later on video. Scientists for the longest time could not determine which phylum they were in. Some argue they are members of the Geoformus phylum because of their spires, which resemble those on Atrooliie. It is currently agreed that they are in fact part of the Biomechan phylum. Their closest relatives are ahrehk'taurs, megawallos, and omehns.
At some point in ancient history, the novarians, which are referred to as "Chronomagi" in old scriptures, migrated through the platform nexus with the help of ahrehk'taurs. The two species forged a symbiotic relationship that is also seen in Atrooliie. Ahrehk'taurs feed off the massive supply of runoff energy from novarians. The ahrehk'taurs provide protection to novarians as well as tow them around much faster than they can move on their own.
*Edit*
I just learned that Nova does not have a tail. I must've missed that part in Milky Way wishes. But seriously... A comet needs a tail.

Maybe this is a subspecies with a tail, and Nova himself was a subspecies which did not.
