Description Decided to make a brighter theme for Crono, but it became somewhat different. Filosofia is designed to be used with the included Emerald theme. The menubar have rounded pixmap corners with a single color that doesn't fit with all window border themes.

This theme requires the Aurora Engine and Pixmap/Pixbuf engine.

Weird, i want to try this theme, but everytime i try to unpack it, an error pops up :S it says it can't handle this file type...

I'm on Ubuntu Jaunty, i thought the file manager could handle *.7z :S

Did this happen to anybody else?

Love the rounded menubars, gives it that Palm Pre cards look that I've been trying to recreate.

It is so beautiful. I love your themes very much and they are generally the ones I use on my desktop. This makes me wish I had Linux so I could use it too! Such a clean, simplistic look. The rounded edges make it look so tidy and smooth. What an incredible theme!

I love all your work, but sadly my little Dell netbook doesn't handle Emerald or Compiz well at all. Gotta stick to standard GTK and Metacity themes...

That is a disgustingly good looking theme. I'm definitely pasting it all over my Ubuntu box with good and proper emerald-glue.
Well done!!!

It may not look exciting at first, but I think that's the whole point. I have this belief that Operating Systems should be, well, operating. I like how this theme is clean, slightly glossy, but not over the top and simplistic.

Maybe when I own a desktop that runs linux I'll try to use this theme.

"Come on! I don't really need to point out why this Linux theme get's a DD do I ?" well, actually i'd like to hear some arguments... IMHO this theme is nothing special.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

mikebeecham In reply to Nemesis13Art [2009-06-05 13:31:09 +0000 UTC]

Probably because, in the past, Linux have tended to be blocky, overly glossy and uninspiring. So far Lassekongo83 has taken the time to create themes that have upped the bar of quality for a linux theme.

Sure, design is ALWAYS subjective, but in light of some of the current themes, Lasse's work is far above what is already out there.

This particular theme, is tight design-wise, and raises a bar again.

Beautiful job! It's truly dynamic in the way that you have to look more than once to tell that the glass effects/ transparency works really well with this colour scheme, even with a Linux system! Personally, I run OpenSUSE 11.1, so I'll have to mess around with functions to find out how to do this same thing!
Once again, great work!

Hello mate....I'm using the emerald theme supplied within the package, but for some reason I do not see the rounded menu bar?

I see all the pixmap buttons, etc, but I have a straight menu bar, not rounded...

..what am I doing wrong?

Great theme as always mate!

lassekongo83 In reply to mikebeecham [2009-06-05 07:23:24 +0000 UTC]

The emerald theme can't display menubars, you need to use the included GTK theme too.

Quick reply mate

I figured it out...for some reason I had to change to another theme completely, then back to Filosofia for it to work well!

It looks fantastic mate!

What icons are you using by the way? I dont recognise the menu icon?

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

lassekongo83 In reply to mikebeecham [2009-06-05 07:37:49 +0000 UTC]

The menu icon is included in the second folder in the archive. (start-here.png)
The icons in Thunar are Oxygen Refit.
