Firefox is pretty easy to setup that way, just rightclick > customize and drag things around. You'll need some plugins for the menubar. With the plugin Stylish and a CSS-file you can style google dark - [link]

It's the font ScalaSans-Caps that does that automaticly somehow.

The font rendering (ClearType) in Windows is horrible compared to Gnome or OSX.

Can i ask which font + settings (size, bold, etc) do you use for the performance monitoring ? (i am guessing it is conky) i am trying to create something similar for rainmeter, so this info would be really helpful, thanx.

Nice one, but I'm afraid that dark GTK themes will always be too buggy to use...

The Murrine engine handles dark themes pretty well, and I've almost eliminated most of the annoying text/contrast bugs. Forms on websites are buggy though, but it can also be fixed if the user uses a global custom CSS file.
