You can blame ~Ghost-Insignus for this, as, apparently he lacks the technical skill to enumerate how good this image is.
So, he enlisted my help, my being a photography nerd and all.

As mentioned by others, this is a well executed shot, it follows many rules, particularly the rule of thirds, and the placement of the aspects of the image lead the eye to various interesting points in the scene.

The rock/sand/grass area (heretofore, the 'watcher area') is particularly interesting with its use of good local contrast, because it gives the eye (and brain) something interesting to visualise.

Of course, my being a technical nerd at photography, I can't help but pick a few faults, minor as they are.
First, it appears as if the water areas`are slightly out of focus, I know this isn't due to to motion blur effects, because of the shutter speed of the image, so it must be because the image was focused on a point of interest in the watcher area. Given the high apparent sharpness on the left of the image, this disparity is a little jolting, at least to my eyes.
If you do edit this image again, altering the colour of the sky might be a good option, as I feel it doesn't really fit, tonally, with the rest of the image.

All said, as mentioned, this is a well executed image, with a lot to keep the eyes interested.

Despite the rocky nature of the headland, there is a beautiful soft flowing nature about this image. The lines are soft like the colours and they flow into each other drawing your eye around the image. The Sea, Grass and the effect the wind has had on the grass give it a fluid feel.

Lovely.

Wow. I'm not a photographer, but I don't think you can find anyone who will say this is not great photography.

Quite fortuitous, that lonely little bench, so alone out there. I also like how the scrub grass has been blown all to the right so consistently that you often can't tell where it ends and the dirt begins.

But this is quite surreal, in my view. Excellent work

Claire,

It isn't so much that no one likes it - few have seen it. DeviantArt is huge and difficult to get work seen. Look at it this way, one in five that viewed it chose it as a favorite. That is a high percentage. Compare it to other top images and you will realize that others like it a lot. It is really a terrific photograph.
