Sunset Shimmer's heart was racing.

With Princess Celestia's retirement as ruler of Equestria, Sunset was a bit iffy about deciding to rule by Twilight Sparkle's side, taking over as the pony who raised the sun. For one thing, she still felt like she didn't deserve her new title as the Princess of Empathy. Not only would she be responsible for assisting in the daily cycle, but she wanted to also serve as a councilor and therapist. She knew that the aftermath of her adventure with Team Harmony--the war against the Nightmare Forces--left a lot of scars on the souls of those who survived. They'd need a caring, knowing heart to try to mend the wounds...

But Sunset decided to take it in stride. After all, Twilight was her best friend, and between them and the continued roles of Princesses Luna and Cadance, Equestria was still in good hooves.

Sunset, partially overwhelmed after the reception ceremony, desperately sought out either Flash Sentry or Princess Twilight, depending on whoever was free first.

"There you are, Sunny!" The voice from behind belonged to Flash, the Royal Guard.

"Flashy!" Sunset called back lovingly. The two stepped close, giving each other a passionate kiss. "Oh, I'm so glad to see you! I needed some R&R after that crazy coronation! Having so many ponies cheer for me all at once was... something I wasn't prepared for..."

"Oh, I don't doubt that," Flash said. "You've just been made a Princess, for harmony's sake! I understand all the pressure that comes with that!"

"Yeah... It's... pretty off-the-wall," Sunset sighed. "So... I forget. When does your shift change...?"

Nervously, Flash replied, "Oh... Um... In about an hour, actually. Why?"

Sunset gave the same sly smile she showed whenever she wanted to "blow off some steam." Flash had become accustomed to it, however, during the 3 years they'd been seeing each other. The young stud was merely waiting for the perfect moment to propose to her: a moment Sunset awaited with silent impatience. The two had no eyes for anypony except each other.

Sunset's answer was, "Oh, good. When you have a minute, you wanna get outta here and go somewhere a little more... private?~"

Knowing exactly what lied at the end of that road, Flash nonetheless couldn't stop himself from smiling. "Sure, Sunny... I'd love nothing more.~"

Satisfied, Sunset softly replied, "Great! Same here. Now that I'm a princess... This time, we can give each other lots of 'wingies...'"

The two ponies blushed as they thought about their next private liaison.
