i need to work on doing like denim and shitt

i noticed people may think i'm tracing these, but i'm not.
i put guidelines on the ref, and i put guidelines on the new, blank image. then, i draw as best as i can. a sketch. then, i overlay the sketch over the original image to check if everything is in place. if it isnt, i try to fix it on my own on the sketch, but if i really am that desperate i'd just do it on the overlayed one. i only had to do this once, for cherie currie's nose.
i then block in the basic colors, eyedropping it from the ref. i then blend the colors and add more colors if needed. clean it up a bit, and it's done~ c:

these kind of take a loooong time... like most of the time is spent on the drawing part of it. x(
the actual painterly coloring part is short hahha!

so yeah.. i like the cherie one better, since idfk the ref seems more interesting to me. i need to clean up cherie a bit though... i messed up a bit on one of the parts hahha!
