I am by no means an expert but am a keen student and was struck right away by the shortness of her arms. I checked out your other studies and paintings and they [with the odd exception] don't exhibit the same problem. The hands are around the right position [ as I understand it anyway ] so they shouldn't look short - but they do. I am thinking that the problem is the narrowness of the shoulders; it doesn't give the arms enough room 'to drop'. I guess that's not very technical but it looks tight and cramped with the narrow shoulders. The one on the right is terrific. It looks 'right'. I would be delighted to have drawn that myself. I am also not feeling the 'weight' of the figures in the other studies here. The other proportions seem great to me and the more I look the more I feel the awkwardness in those shoulders. I hope that helps some. I am doing figure studies myself at the mo and hope you might consider critiquing those for me if I ever feel satisfied enough to post. You have some very nice work. - B_man
