My second project for Illustration was to create an illustration for a children's book, so I chose "Where the Wild Things Are".I had a lot of fun making this piece and re-imagining the characters!

I only watched the movie -.-' and honestly it kind of traumatized me for a while, I watched it again some years ago and discovered that there were many scenes that I didn't understand when I was younger. I'm not quite sure if the movie should be for kids .-.
About the drawing I think it looks really good, I mean to be honest it brings back a lot of bad memories from the movie but I guess that is becuase you make a great work with the characters : )

I don't think the movie is for kids in my opinion. I believe each of the wild things represent different emotions or aspects of Max (the kid), or perhaps the people in his life, and everything is about him dealing with his parents' divorce.
That's a pretty heavy topic for kids.
I watched it when I was younger, too, and didn't understand it, but I really like the designs of the characters, so I want to watch it again at some point.
Thanks! I'm sorry it reminds you of bad memories, but I made the characters a little more approachable than they are in the movie. XD
