I wanted to see what all the characters looked like compared to their younger selves, and oh how they've changed... and some of them, not really.This was made out of pure boredom, but I'm putting it on here because I want to
and I'm curious what other people think about their differences, not that there is many.But who are your favorites? Mine personally in this is Azula because her younger and older self look practically the same to me

For some reason Azula didn't change much. Same expression and everything! I love how much Zuko changed, and how Aang matured into a young teenager at the end of the show.

I love it how little Zuko looks so scared and vulnerable, but looks so in charge and mature as now that he's Fire Lord.

Ha ha! Ty Lee never grows up or old. I like Toph's progression the best. From, "I'm just a helpless well behaved little blind girl, really I am" To "feel my wrath, you insects!...... gees, I hope Sokka's watching me be bad ass"

I think Zuko, Mai, Sokka and Aang are my favorites. Aang looks so NAKED without his arrow to me.

The first picture was from a short flashback, so they changed the lighting in the picture a bit, which I guess changed his eye color too.

I don't know, Azula has the same expression, but her proportions changed the most of any of the characters IMO.

Yeah that's true, I just thought it was funny that her attitude didn't change. Except for when she goes crazy in the finale.

If you think about it, Ty Lee and Mai didn't really switch sides either. Or if Mai did, she gave up her loyalty to the Fire Nation just for love. On the other hand, she probably wouldn't have helped Zuko if he weren't in mortal danger. Those two Fire Nation girls just kind of magically became good guys at the end.

Yeah, I know what you mean. At the end, it seemed so rushed. It just had some excuses for how they got there and why they're on the good side. I didn't like that, but it makes sense I think, since they were focusing more on what the gaang was doing.

Yeah. I myself was disappointed that Zuko just went back to Mai because to me she represented part of his 'old' self.
Another thing that irked me about the ending was the Avatar State just being suddenly unlocked. They went through all that angst in the Season 2 finale and then just kinda swept it under the rug- he smashes his back into a rock and then he's spiritually enlightened? WTF?

I'm pretty sure the first time I watched avatar I thought the same thing you did about Mai being apart of his past. Now, I'm completely in love with maiko, so I can't complain.
Yes I know! When I saw it at first I was really surprised and was like "what just happened?" and even when I watch it now with people I know, I feel like they're thinking the same thing. I've heard the commentary for that episode and the creators might explain what happened at that moment, but I can't remember at the top of my head. I'll be sure to listen to it again to see if they do.

That's part of the reason I ship Toko. 'Cause she's Earth Kingdom and those are the people he learned to identify with.
Hmm, tell me if you do. Another thing I want answered is why Azula was able to generate lightning if she had *clearly* lost her peace of mind. It should have just exploded in her face like Zuko's. XDDD
