Description I was sitting at my easel close to midnight, window at my back, coyotes howling in the background and I felt chills. So instead of painting a pretty picture this is what came out. This painting is dedicated to that spooky, creepy feeling you get when you are alone, in the dark and aware of what might be out there beyond that black window......

Gah... this is a little too close to reality for me.

Very well done! This picture made me think of the impermanence of flesh...

Me too! Sometimes I look at myself and think I'm just slipping away, dont' look the same anymore. It's weird!

I am old.

I don't mind at all. I earned every wrinkle and growing old is the way things are meant to be... Old faces are beautiful. People who attempt to prolong youth through surgeries and whatnot are grotesque.

To me, your painting was about the things that age one mentally (stress, overwork, fear) and mortality.

ha ha, prolonged youth, it does look a little bizarre when a 20 something woman has a mother with a younger looking face!

I'll never forget the time my sister and I saw this seemingly lovely woman in a bikini from the back. When she turned around, we nearly died. Her boobs were saggy and her face looked like shoe leather. She must have been in her sixties.

I was laughing to myself when I thought to title it Aging. I feel like thats how I look sometimes. Especially in the morning after a sleepless night. You know, like you have the jowls of a dog and your eyelids hang down to you knees.

I like the way the paint is handled in this piece. It reminds me of some kind of dilapidation.

Thank you! I used a painting knife and then a spray bottle aimed mostly at the lips, chin and eye. It was kind of fun actually!

Beyond my window there's a care home for chronic alcoholics, so I often hear howling and other strange noises...nothing to do with animal though.

The way everything is melting downwards looks like sanity and self-awareness melting away.

So when you have a 4am creative spur that must work as a great backdrop to your eerie art!!

When my kids are screaming and yelling at each other this is EXACTLY how I feel! ha ha
