Part four - and also- the last of Azazels backgroundstory! And back to the presence- which means back to him and Mystique! FINALLY!
It might have taken forever... but I will change the style of narration to be able to upload more than once a decade D:

And due to the fact that >Days of Future Past< happened... I literally can say:
While trying to esplain how Nightcrawler happened- HIS FATHER DIED WITHOUT IMPREGNATING THE MOTHER!
(OR Mystique has been pregnant the whole movie WHICH I highly doubt >_>)

About this strip now, here you go:

After swearing to his folks he would free them- being Mephistos enemy paid back. Luckily, Azazel managed to stay something like friends with Lady Hela (mostly by annoying Mephisto). The ruler of Hel let him search her library for a way to connect the two separated dimensions.

Since Earth and Brimstone (the name of the dimension where his folks hat been sent) where separated, Azazel needed to find a spell to undo the Seraphims curse. As soon as possible since Brimstone was filled with monsters, sulfur and fire- barely a place to survive- neither to live.

But time passed and all he got were false hopes which got shattered over time- and a shrinking folk. Being unable to help them- he finally stopped visiting and swore to only come back when he found the solution.
It felt like ages when he finally found it- not- he found them.

Two ways lead to connection two dimensions.
1: Bring up enough energy and relase it while passing from one dimension to another. The shock would break the barriers and one could travel between the separated places again.
2: Two beings, connected by blood with the ability to travel between two places in every dimension should- one on Earth- one in Brimstone- should travel to the other one at the same time. By this act they would open a way between the dimensions, others could use. However, this implied for Azazel to have a child which would be able to teleport- like him.

Curiously Hela asked which way he would choose- and the answer was clear.
Since Azazel couldn't summon the needed energy for the first method- he would travel to earth- impregnate a few women and look which child can teleport. Since he still was able to change his appearance and was partly incubus it also sounded much easier.

Said and done- back to earth he looked out for fitting candidated and started to court her.

And the very second he was sure about his plan working- someone else stepped up:
Sebastian Shaw.
A man who always slipped Azazels attention in the times before- who turned out to have studied the demonic mutant very well. Shaw himself was much older then he seemed and happened to know about Azazels problems. And also a lot about hot mutations worked.
He told Azazel that- no matter how much children he would father- none of them would have his abilites if it wasn't for a mutant mother.
And - back in the time where they met- mutant ladies were rare.

Not impressed by that- Azazel still went with him since Shaw had offered him something else- by his own ability: To absorb and release any form of energy.

The deal was set very fast:
Azazel- in his natural form- would work for Shaw, teleoport and fight for him as he said, as a member of a very special society called "Hellfire Club". Shaw wanted to enlarge it by finding more mutants.
In return- Shaw would look out for ways to absorb the needed energy and- when it was enough- help Azazel break the barrier between the dimensions.

At the beginning it really looked like Shaw would keep his promise. After years of intensive research, they found the answer:
Nuclear energy.
Since all they could do about this was to wait for scientists to work it out- it was about Azazels part of the deal.

The first one they found was a young man named Janos Questad- who called himself Riptide. It wasn't hard for Shaw to convince him to become a member of their team- even so he wasn't truth about his goals anymore.
Azazel knew how it looked when people wanted more than say told about:
Shaw wanted the world.
And each and everyone he would hire now was just a recrutee, someone he would sacrifice for his goals.

Times passed again- Emma Frost- The white Queen- became the last member of the Hellfire Club.
At thist point- Azazel was very angry about how long they had to wait- and he also couldn't bear Shaws lovely susurrus towards her. He would've done somethin very, very, very stupid like trying to hook up with Emma- and make her carry out his child- since she was a mutant- it would work! Like Shaw said- only a mutant woman could give birth do a kid with his abilities! AND EMMA WAS A MUTANT! ... .... ... luckily he found a friend in Janos who told him to calm down. And. Wait.

When Shaw bought a a ship with a secret submarine- Azazel didn't think he bought it for other purposes then having a secret command base.
But Shaw showed him the first results of nuclear energy- and told him he only would need a little more... just a few days before a mutant named Erik Lehnsherr would visit them.

When that Lehnsherr guy returned, Azazel really thought it would just cost a few more days- BUT NOT SCREW UP THE PLAN THEY HAD WORKED ON FOR YEARS! FOR A CENTURY!!!
TIME FOR HIS PEOPLE WAS RUNNING OUT - THEY WERE BARELY SURVIVING- THEIR NUMBER HAD SHRUNK TERRIFYINGLY- AND SHAW JUST DIED BEFORE THEY COULD FINISH THE PLAN!

Janos- who never was a chatty one (like Azazel) - didn't say much- he- like their latest member- Angel Salvatore- was too shocked.
>So much for plan 1. What was plan 2 again?<

And Azazel remembere Shaws words about how plan two would fail... if his child... wasn't carried to term... by a mutant mother... ...
"... da... and it looks like I found the perfect one..."
