Description
This is my entry for the SquareEnix "The World Ends with You" contest. I designed her as a hero, but I kind of imagine her as a shopkeeper character as well. I wanted to combine the modern, cute gothic lolita styles that are picking up speed in Japan, as well as the West with a more traditional Wafu Japanese design.

It had been a long time since I'd designed an original character, but this contest was a good inspiration. It's always so amazing to see the creativity of everyone on this site; the interpretations are all so varied!

This entry was drawn in pencil, scanned and then coloured in Photoshop. The background is a photo I took in Shibuya when I was in Tokyo last month.
