reminds me of the Heavens, sun, snow peaked moutains, and the sky...

Very nice. Might have used a bit more contrast, though.

Thanks
I guess it could have a bit more of contrast, but I wanted to keep it very soft.

This is stunning. It is so surreal and the colors are just lovely! I love the expression on the girls face. Just makes me want to give her a hug.
For some reason too it totally reminds me of a Degas, so I am envisioning this girl as a dancer contemplating backstage or something.

That's a beautiful interpretation! And I love Degas, so you have made me an extra compliment!
Thanks!

He and Jackson Pollock are my faves! I started liking Degas when I was kid. At the time I even didn't like the color pink (*gasp*), but liked his paintings so much my parents bout me a couple a prints and I painted my room pink to match them!

Yeah, I tend to like a little bit of everything. It's all art to me, you just gotta approach it with an open mind.
And yes, I loved it! Took dance for YEARS, and pink has been my favorite color since then!

Of course! one of the better things I learnt at University was to appreciate all types of art
Did you take ballet classes?

Oh yeah, from the time I was 2 till I was 16. Ballet, tap, point, modern, street, lyrical...blah blah blah.

So soft and beautiful. I really like the wide range of pastel colours you used - all the colours of the rainbow, really - and the soft, somewhat blurry shapes. The skin has a very warm look to it. It all gives the impression of something out of a dream or a vision...

Well, thank you very much! I'm glad you like it
You are right about the colours. They give me the feeling of an underwater scene, but I guess it can also be seen as a place in the sky. Thanks for your imput on this!

Thank you!
Well, it went through a lot of stages...I kept doing all kinds of backgrounds but I never liked them. So I left the painting undone for many months...until one day I picked it up again and this came up
I guess the lesson was to never give up on a painting

That's exactly what I do! I have put pieces down for months and after a break I come back to it with more emotion than when I first started. Sometimes a painting needs to "breathe"
I'm glad you came back to this piece! It looks amazing

Absolutely beautiful. It reminds me of a dream I had once, or maybe a time I had once but never again.
