What a great first attempt I normally don't look at drop shots, as they are so ubiquitous on here, but this is lovely. What I love is the colour and the swirl or sway at the bottom. I think the slow shutter speed made it really lovely.

Wonderful.... I like how the drop is out of focus.... it makes it seem like it's still coming into existance, maybe? Not quite there, but there enough? The colors are beautiful, and overall this is a wonderful picture.

The focus is slightly out but the composition, exposure and processing of the shot is spot on.

I think its very good for a first attempt With macro distances depth of field gets tiny so its very hard to get the shots properly in focus. Normally the way I focus macro is get the magnification set right by focusing it to the distance i want then move my head/camera to finetune the focus.

Thanks for this comment, the top bit is slightly out. Like you said the depth of field is so small so its hard! You wouldnt believe how many shots i took just to get a few decent ones! I do have a better one than this i might post tomorrow or so.

PS. I dont think i'll be getting bored of this any time soon!

Awww thats a pity a nice 105mm macro would do my lens collection a lot of good.

Im submitting a shot of some machine oil which took me many attempts to get an in-focus version Thats with my 55mm f2.8 macro. It has a tiny dof, your lens probably has half that

it's a pity the actual droplet is out of focus but apart from that it's lovely - the colours are gorgeous and it looks so smooth, like time slowed down
