Description
Acrylic on canvas, 24" x 36"Commission piece. This is a bright rendition of the Kits Point "dog beach" where people walk their dogs. More specifically, the white structure at the tip marks Elsje Point, a quiet little spit just down from the Maritime Museum.
The water of Vancouver is more often a dark green than a blue: it reflects the trees that line the shores and is also coloured within by the seaweed and algae. The waves are random but repetitive.
The distinct green-blue Vancouver mountains slouch over a decidedly more colourful English Bay. English Bay is where we hold our annual and much-loved fireworks competition and this point is a prime viewing spot.

You art missed me so much, I am so happy to see that you submited something. I like so much the mountains, they are well painted, particulary because these details in them. Your describition about the water got something special: you describe what a great artist as you can throught their eyes, and even if you see everyday these waters, it seem so symbolic. It is really poetic.Or maybe it is the feeling to remember about my trip in Vancouver, I do not know. Anyway, the motion in the water is great, it add a lot of life in your creation. I also very like the fiery colors that gave to the sable. Keep painting these marvellous scene with your amazing skills.

Nice! I resumed the book in January, four more chapters to go and it's (almost) ready. Nautilus seashell for the win! Did I give you the poem that goes with it? (Not a poem of mine, though.)

Lovely work! I really like the colors of the ocean, mountains and sky. Is that Grouse Mountain in the background?

Thank you! Grouse Mountain is just to the right (East) of these mountains, the peaks of which, I am told, are "Goat" and "Dog". Apparently we name all our mountains after animals or something. There, trivia. I didn't know this until recently, so I'm evangelizing.
