Do I have to explain this to you guys? ^_^Not all the matchings perfectly match up ofcourse so no whining.
I had wanted to put text in here to make a magazine spread. I might do that later if I find the proper fonts for it. I

Well now, its rather apparent when placed side by side. A little trivia though, you might be surprised to know this.
Tite Kubo actually had to put off his publication Bleach since its official reveiwers had said that it was far too similar to the smash hit Yuyu Hakusho.
Discouraged, Tite Kubo sought the opinion of his peers. The creator of Dragon Ball Z looked over his creation and encouraged him to push to get it publushed.
Currently, Bleach is almost coming close to the popularity of Yuyu Hakusho in regaurds to fans.

Bleach's characters, and select plots, are directly derived from YYH, and everybody seems to notice but the die-hard Bleach fanatics at my school, who tend to get testie everytime I say stuff like "Which paralells with the YYH series...."

Oh, I wouldn't say it is entirely derivative. There are many similarities here and there but I would say it eventually became it's own unique series. ^_^

From what I heard JUMP almost never gave Bleach a chance because of its similarities with YYH, but no less than Akira Toriyama found potential in Kubo Tite's work. He encouraged the young author and it definitely became its own narrative.
I would actually recommend reading the manga as opposed to watching the anime (if you're willing to take it in either way) The animation quality often suffers as with all long-term series. (Not to mention you get all those pesky fillers.

I've always wanted to see Bleach characters and YYH characters together somehow. (Actually, I sorta picture Koenma and Yamamoto arguing on who's better: spirit detectives or shinigami xD) But this is awsome just as much lol Good job!

And I have noticed a lot of similarities between Bleach and YuYu Hakusho. (Though Rukia is in the same sort of role Botan is in YYH, so... okay that's a really wierd comparison right there.)

Lol, speaking of wanting to eat brains, I was watching this show once about this people who hunt seals, and the mother in the family said "I can't wait to eat the brains". And she said it in such a casual, easy-going manner. Anyways, YYH wins over Bleach anyday. It's frightening how similar the characters are... I'd love to see a fight scene between them all and see who would come out on top.

The series are so similar, it's disturbing 0.o In a good way, naturally <3 I love Yusuke and Ichigo's expressions....Yusuke looks like he's kinda flirting with Ichigo...>w> The others are awesome too, but Ichigo and Yusuke are my faves <33
...it'd be interesting to see how Rukia and Hiei would interact with one another though :3 Sorry, random thought, but....they are kinda similar, at least in the beginning >w<

It's true that there are similarities in both series. It's the reason why Bleach almost never made it to JUMP, but I think it's come through as its own story!

Yeah, I heard about that XD; It's kinda funny, since beforehand I thought I might've been the only one to notice the similarities, but then to find out that the series was nearly rejected by the magazine because of that...it was pretty surprising :3 But yesh, Bleach has come a long, LONG way from how it started, and it's still really awesome 
XD Yeah, and they both have wicked skills with a sword.....heheh, last year in my school's anime club, we watched the first episode of Bleach and one of the kids went "OMG!! She's like a female Hiei!!" XDD;;
