Description I had this idea for Sketchember but I ended up fiddling around with it a bit more.

SPOILERS FOR THE MOVIE PAPRIKA COMING UP:
I'm pretty fascinated with the idea that Paprika is Atsuko's alter ego but looks absolute nothing like her. Paprika is laid back in manner and clothes, she's less guarded and quicker to smile. It's almost a wonder she's a part of Atsuko but she is.

Visually, it helps set the two worlds apart, dreaming and real. But for me, this difference also hints at something about ourselves. Inside each of us, even the most stoic, is energy, life, a fiery red-headed force of nature. It's little wonder Atsuko can't help but be a part of that even if it's dangerous and illegal.

I could be totally off the movie or the book but it's something I responded especially to in the movie. That moment when Det. Konakawa somehow recognizes her in the living world still gives me chills.

TLDR
Anyway, I imagine this to be the moment just before Atsuko becomes Paprika. As she falls unconscious, Paprika greets her just beneath the surface of her mind.

Really really short version.
I still don't know how to paint. *slaps a bunch of textures together*

Lastly, I've wanted to make a Satoshi Kon tribute ever since I heard of his passing. Paprika is my favorite movie of the little of his works I've seen.

I know what you mean. The minute Konakawa realizes who she is just gives me goosebumps.

It's simply breath taking! The fact that you used Paprika as Atsuko's reflection is really unique. Great job ^^

Simple, yet captivating! I like the movement of this and the effect of making Paprika almost like a reflection on the surface of water. I've never seen this movie, but this peaks my curiosity! Nice job!
