Aww...I love this one...truly do. I don't know if you should be focusing on the wild flowers...don't know if I really agree at all. This is a nice composition of the mountain and the rugged terrain in the foreground leads the eye to the top. Now to my way of looking at things, that is what should happen. If you want to take pictures of flowers then you would...but my impression was that you were shooting the mountain itself...and you did that very well.

I am so glad you this one! Makes me feel so happy!
Yes, I wholeheartedly agree with everything that you mentioned in your comment! It is the mountain that I wanted to capture in my shot, especially its ruggedness. I just wanted to incorporate everything into the photo when I took that day, since we've had such dry weather so far. I am just amazed that some wildflowers have been blooming, despite lack of rain. I titled this photo to show that there is even a little bit of spring, even under very dry conditions. I thought that if I showed a little bit of yellow in the photo, viewers would get the idea that certain wildflowers have already bloomed.
I will try to photograph certain wildflowers with the mountain in the background, but the photos will definitely not be macros.
There is ALWAYS something about 'scapes that captures my eye, and I guess I am more into that kind of photography than anything else. Something to do with my being so visual. I find them to be so great for the psyche!

I feel you should more focus on wild flowers than the total view of mountain, which could be a background.

Thanks for your input. Actually, I have been taking more far-away shots than the close-up ones. But I will try to take some shots of wildflowers (with the mountain in the background) when I get a chance in the near future. Thanks again for your feedback. Appreciate it!
