“Zorran’s finding it hard to sleep nowadays. Everytime he closes his eyes,, he sees that nightmare.

The deep wine red & black striped background, the non-existent stage, and the audience he must perform to.
He sees the smoke clouding around him- and the dance partner he can’t get away from.
That oily bastard takes his hand and forcefully pulls him into a tango. Moves that didn’t make sense for their height difference wasn’t the concern, *his* cigar was touching his cheek & *his* hand was gripping tighter than what even Hercules can manage.

*He* looks him dead in the eye and smiles widely. Zorran wants to get out, he doesn’t want this— and yet he’s so scared to say no.
The moves become too sudden & Rocky for him to keep up with, and yet trying to escape scares him. *he* scares him.
He yells to be let go as the oily bastard keeps rocking him around. Yelling he wants to stop when the audience continues to cheer and clap at their dance.
Yelling he doesn’t want to continue when *his* grip comes down and *he* grabs Zorran’s neck. He screams and fidgets but he’s on the non-existent ground, looking up at him and his one eye and his strong grip while he can’t break it and his lungs are too weak to inhale the smoke circling him and he can’t yell anymore because his hands are constricting him, despite being shaken like a maraca from the head up.

He goes to grab for Lydia and he struggles because his leg is where she’s positioned and he tries and tries and suddenly..

*zorran!* *ZORRAN!*

…he wakes up.

He’s not in the circus tent; he’s lying in his bed. His lamp is turned on.
Lydia isn’t hiding unusually on his front instead of his back, she’s lying on his bedside table.
And the oily bastard isn’t overtop of him with his hands on his neck,,, it’s Zak, holding his shoulders. Illuminated by the lamp and the hallway light coming from the cracked-open door, with 3 silhouettes of their fellow Zeds looking in at the scene.”

I had the thought for this a few hours ago and yes i wrote a whole ass short story for it—
also if you’re wonderinggggg who that other guy is— with the cigar? that’s my TUGS villain OC, Smoke. 👀 and yes my Zorran’s got new boots hehehe
