Description
Edit 7/26/12 2:10 PM GMT ESTRedid the whole coloring in Corel Painter 11. This is the way I wanted my coloring to be for a long time now. I wanted it to match my color pencil coloring.
It did exactly how I really want my coloring to be. Except the c-cell was done in PS. And a few effects and stuff.
Gave her a background instead of just blank with a white stroke lol.
Corel is hard to use due to not being used to it's interface but I got through it..
I completely forgot I even had it.. It didn't want to install cause I got Windows 7 though lol. But I found a way around it. It works smoothly.
I don't have any qualms with this coloring now. It's just the drawing now rofl.
-----------------------------
Tablet drawing practice. Because I suck at it lol.
Like Shadow I played with colors and some styling things, and messed with her design. Don't ask why, my hands just drew it lol.
I did this while having some pain issues, and still having some that I can't sleep lol. So I decided to upload it now instead of waiting till tomorrow.
By the way, she's got movement since she's slightly swinging a bit.
Edit: Fixed things I was told about that I didn't notice during my all nighter last night. Whoops. > <;

You seem to care enough to reply to me, though.
This isn't meant to be any attack on you in any form. I just want to let you know that it isn't helping anyone if you simply post a 'critique' which only simply pats the artist's head. A critique needs to be in depth and actually look at both sides, good and bad. That is the part which helps your friends and honestly, the thanks you earn will be more achieved as you know you assisted your friend or even favourite artist. c:

Okay so what is your point?

TheEternalBelief In reply to Sasha-the-Hedgie [2012-08-08 02:05:45 +0000 UTC]
My point is you should at least analyse and asses both sides and use this to give constructive criticism and advice. If you cannot find any for either side, a comment would be more suitable.

Overall
Vision
Originality
Technique
Impact
So, let's go in order e.deviantart.net/emoticons/w/w⦠" width="15" height="15" alt="
" title="
(Wink)"/>
Vision:
Well, the attention is caught by a very well drawn amy e.deviantart.net/emoticons/s/s⦠" width="15" height="15" alt="
" title="
(Smile)"/> I like the glowing you put on the charms on her gloves/boots (be careful! the glowing went behind the white stroke around the character, i suggest you to avoid the use of the strokes around the characters when you put glowing effects and viceversa ^^)
3,5 / 5
Originality:
Your style is recognizable, maybe the only thing is the absence of a background that would have filled the pic even more than now e.deviantart.net/emoticons/w/w⦠" width="15" height="15" alt="
" title="
(Wink)"/> Anyway I can see you changed Amy's outfit remaking it as you preferred, and I apreciate this kind of things
e.deviantart.net/emoticons/w/w⦠" width="15" height="15" alt="
" title="
(Wink)"/> 4 / 5
Technique:
Your shading is precise, it seems a mix of digital painting and cell shading, and if you did this, well.. you mixed the two things pretty well (even because they're different styles and it's not easy to mix them). The anatomy is okay, the proportions are correct. 4,5 /5
Impact:
Considering the things I said before I can give you a 4 / 5.
The good things are the shading, the reinterpretation of Amy's outfit and the negative things are the absence of the background and (to enter in details) the pose, that looks a little bit static, but the anatomy is good, so it's not a great problem ^^ I suggest you to use photos to take ideas from poses if you need it ^^ (Look at *SenshiStock 's gallery, she has a lot of photos of poses that helped me a lot e.deviantart.net/emoticons/s/s⦠" width="15" height="15" alt="
" title="
(Smile)"/>)
Looking your other pics you're improving e.deviantart.net/emoticons/w/w⦠" width="15" height="15" alt="
" title="
(Wink)"/> Keep it up and don't give up and you'll obtain great results soon ;D

Yeah you had a point there about the glow, I didn't quite notice since I was so tired and probably didn't even care at that moment but now that you mention it yeah I shouldn't but I fixed it by erasing the parts that go outside the stroke for the most part.
( I have not updated the deviation yet though. Since I was told other things/I noticed some other things too. xD )
I always have trouble with backgrounds or lack of any ideas for one so I usually do the stroke as somewhat of a nice touch to it, doesn't help much, but just a tad. I have an idea for one now it's just I'm not sure if I can pull it off well, as it's not too clear of an idea.. xD
But it should have one, I suppose I'll try a few tries and see if anything works.
I usually stick to their original designs, but I didn't feel like it while drawing. xD
It was actually all digital, I'm just very used to both mediums so I've been trying to merge the two somehow, since digital has better range of colors while I love the gritty feeling traditional has. So far it's coming together.. I think.. D8
It's the feet isn't it? I have a feeling I made one facing oddly.. like I usually do..
Ah yeah poses are a bit of a problem indeed for me, I tend to just draw and not think about how much it makes sense, or whether it's fluid or stiff. I always seem to overlook that.
( Ah I've been looking for good stock photos but can never seem to find one that fits the pose I was going for or the angle but she seems to have a good amount that may be helpful indeed. ^^ )
Hopefully, as I see to draw less and less than I used to, as I did these mostly to make sure I'm not going rusty. xD
And thank you for the critique, it helped a lot. ^^

Eheh Don't worry ^^ It wasn't the feet, you did them well ^^ a static pose is a pose where the character stands there and nothing more, a dynamic pose is something like "waving, running, jumping, etc.."
But don't worry these are all little things, your pic is awesome ;D

I like how it came out. It's nice to see more experimentation with different colors for lightning aside from just white or green. Have you tried using two colors instead of one for lighting effects?
