Description Edit 7/26/12 2:10 PM GMT EST

Redid the whole coloring in Corel Painter 11. This is the way I wanted my coloring to be for a long time now. I wanted it to match my color pencil coloring.

It did exactly how I really want my coloring to be. Except the c-cell was done in PS. And a few effects and stuff.

Gave her a background instead of just blank with a white stroke lol.

Corel is hard to use due to not being used to it's interface but I got through it..

I completely forgot I even had it.. It didn't want to install cause I got Windows 7 though lol. But I found a way around it. It works smoothly.

I don't have any qualms with this coloring now. It's just the drawing now rofl.

-----------------------------
Tablet drawing practice. Because I suck at it lol.

Like Shadow I played with colors and some styling things, and messed with her design. Don't ask why, my hands just drew it lol.

I did this while having some pain issues, and still having some that I can't sleep lol. So I decided to upload it now instead of waiting till tomorrow.

By the way, she's got movement since she's slightly swinging a bit.

Edit: Fixed things I was told about that I didn't notice during my all nighter last night. Whoops. > <;

Thanks. <3
Yeah, been playing with colors past few months. And I did try do here but it's too close of colors, ( I used yellow for most of the highlights, and a red-ish orange in a lesser extent but they blended in by accident, whoops. xD )
Woo late reply.. sorry about that. |D

That's alright.

Are you very familiar with the color theory? If you are, it is a lot easier to experiment. This goes with both digital and traditional. I learned a lot from traditional experience, actually so it doesn't matter what medium you go for, at least for the most part.

Quite familiar, I just have trouble applying it when shading and highlighting, but design wise I am pretty familiar with it.
Probably have trouble shading and highlighting due to my excessive use of blending layers. I'm learning on how to get out of them now though. I tried that on my Shego picture recently, Took awhile to get the colors right but I didn't use any blending modes at least. xD
Though I have more luck with coloring with my traditional stuff, so digital is a bit foreign still. I guess it's a matter or trail and error. |D

Thank you. <3
Experiment, that's what I do! Mess with that shading.
..It doesn't always turn out right but eventually it will.
As long as you got your light source you can do it. c:

I took slight inspiration from that yes, but I went berserk and went on my own way, a tad.. xD
Since I thought the feather would odd so ribbons would be better.. the colors were hard to decide though. xD
And the glow... well, I love things that glow, I just seem to have to have something glowing in everything. xD
But I've always loved that headband piece for her, I thought it was nice on her. c:
Thanks. <3

Not sure why, I can't figure out why.. not much similar in our styles there..?
I dunno why you'd think that but maybe I'm missing what makes you think that. xD

The shading style on the outline. Look at :devearthwindk2:'s profile picture and you'll see what I mean.

Ohh I see now. I didn't really see it till I stared for awhile.. xD
I see what you see now, but it's a simple effect in PS to do so I'm pretty sure it's common. ^^
I usually use it when I have no backgrounds ( and as of late that's been nearly 100% of the time. |D )

Oh Amy I really lvoe the detail in this, I've always wanted to do lines like you do but I always draw on lined paper damnit D:
I like the shading, I see it improving
I find the lights on the dress are a little too hard and bright for that. After all, it's just a piece and fabric and wouldn't reflect off that much light.
From those red glowing things, you should of added some red lights and shade colours into it. So, you know, you can really tell that it's glowing o3o It's difficult to see, but turning up the opicity is going to make it look ...Choppy.

Lavenkitty In reply to Madact [2012-07-19 15:38:13 +0000 UTC]

Ah doesn't matter if it's on lined paper since this was actually all digital for once. I just used a pencil brush set I found on dA after it got a DD since it seemed neat. xD
I very rarely use my tablet but I thought I might want to practice since my scanner is being a jerk recently with scanning things. xD
And for once didn't fail. xD
And I didn't notice that till you pointed that out, whoops, must've been so tired I didn't even think of that. D8
( I fixed it in PS after noticing what you said but haven't updated yet.. )
I forgot to do that, I usually do that.. whoops again.. > <;
Yeah pretty much, any higher and my shading in that area is lost. xD
