Description After placing several trees down on a map I decide to test it and gawk as my character runs right through them. I went back into the Object Maker and removed/replaced the collision boxes, but with no results.

If someone can explain how I can walk through trees, please, comment below.

EDIT:
I "fixed" this simply by moving the collision box down.

Game is Feral Heart.

Not since 1.13, but I haven't use the Object maker in a long while, so I'm just noticing this now.

This problem may have something to do with the most recent patch since I have the same issue. I've just resorted to using the 'own collision' instead of the manual box collisions, but either way, it's a pain concerning trees.

Huh, I was noticing this problem after the most recent patch. I figured out also that, for some reason, you can run through the base of the trees, but the collision works for the upper part of the trees so you can still land in them. Or fly into them.
Unfortunately, I don't know how to solve the problem, but the collision is there, it's just... heightened? Tis strange.

Yes, I noticed that too, though half the time if I jumped into the tree even the higher part had no collision. Maybe if I try lowering the box?

Hm, possibly? Or maybe it has something to do with the characters themselves so that certain functions aren't working properly? But yes, you could try lowering the collision, see if that might do something. And if that doesn't work... hah, I have no idea.

Yep, lowering it works, sort of. You can still walk part way through the tree, but not all the way...

in object maker take the object out that you want, then go under collision, and click the yellow and hit delete thats at the bottom, then its gone and your done

lol Oh, I meant if someone could explain why I was walking through a collision; I don't want to get rid of the collision, I just want to make it work.

Did you check the box that says "Own Collision" under "Mesh" tab?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Lawcere In reply to SmashingTheOpponent [2012-03-02 05:56:16 +0000 UTC]

No, because I wanted to use a box collision instead. Sometimes having its own collision makes the object a bit finicky, and it's difficult to navigate your character around it.

SmashingTheOpponent In reply to Lawcere [2012-03-02 05:58:37 +0000 UTC]

oh, well you can test it with "own collision" cuz i know when I didnt check it I walked right threw everything and it upset me.

Lawcere In reply to SmashingTheOpponent [2012-03-02 06:02:09 +0000 UTC]

Hmm, I'll see if having checking own collision will be better.
