JohnDave Never! Part 1

-Where it began-

Today was little five year old, John Egbert's first hunt. The raven haired, azure-blue eyed boy was hopping with joy. His older sister tries to hold him down “Now John, calm down!” John impatiently stands. His black wolf like ears already popped out twitching. Along with his tail swaying side to side. “John, remember this is your first hunt and you're going alone. You have to come back before the full moon is over that mountain kay?”

“Yeah, I know Jane! Can I go now!!!” The little wolf boy howls with impatience. “Alright, you can go” Jane sighs, little John's eyes lit up as he takes form into a medium sized sleek black wolf with sharp curious blue eyes. Before he pelted off, his older experienced sister yells out “Make us proud John! And prove to us that you are worthy of the Egbert pack! I have faith in you little brother!”

The air was cold, allowing you to see your breath clearly. A blanket of white covered the whole forest and huge mountains. The thundering of the young wolf's paws spread throughout the area. After reaching a certain spot he paused. Closing his azure eyes, the young black wolf takes in the scent of nature's fruits. And the tiniest of sounds.

After a few minutes, the eager wolf finally picked up the scent of rabbits. It was only about 1 in a half miles from his location. He pelts towards the alluring scent. After a good while, he caught up to the snowshoe hare. John hid behind the snow covered shrubs. Crouching down, until his furry black chest and belly touched the snowy ground.

His eyes locked on the snowshoe hare. Slowly and quickly he slid from the shrubs. Getting closer to the hare, it's ears twitch. The hare alert of John's presences it was about to dash off. John lunged out, he tries to wrap his teeth around the hare's neck. However, the hare dashes off lighting speed. John's playful child self escapes as he dashes off for the hare.

Being only five, playing and having fun was the only thing on his mind during this period. John ran far, chasing the hare. That the sun was already setting down. However, our carefree wolf didn't noticed. The snowshoe hare getting tired, it noticed the darker part of the woods across the shallow water bank.

It was the forbidden territory for werewolves... John still wasn't focusing! He was too busy having fun chasing the poor terrified hare. He hopped onto the stones on the bank, taking his first steps into the forbidden territory... The little wolf so foolishly crossed.

Not far from where the wolf was fooling around, was another boy. This boy was slightly taller with blond hair and crimson red eyes. He was playing with some of the other young children. The strong medium skinned boy, who was playing in the game kicked the ball so hard it shot off into the forest. “Nice Equius.” The blond boy teases as he playfully bump Equius's shoulder.

The three other kids stared at each other questioning. A girl with brunet hair and red eyes spats,”I'm sooo not getting that.” A short ginger boy facepalms himself “Thanks to buff dude the play is all the way there! If Terezi doesn't get it, I'm not getting it.” The blond boy sighs, “Alright Karkat don't throw a fit...I'll get it. You guys wait for me.” Terezi waves him bye “Good luck Dave!”

Dave smiles and waves bye as well. He runs into the forest in incredible speeds. A speed no normal human being can run at. Yes, if you guessed this boy wasn't a normal boy you are correct. Dave Strider is a 500 year old vampire, who lives in a small refuge village. Everyone in the small village was a refugee, seeking help and invisibility from the outside world.

Due to all of their vampire blood, they must live in the mountains and forest. Hidden from the eye of society. Dave finally got far enough into the woods. Trying to find the red rubber ball for his friends. It was no where to be seen but he kept looking. “Where is that stupid ball...I'm too cool for this garbage...” The sun was nearly gone and the temperature was dropping.

The poor little blond started to shiver from the cold. His red coat wasn't enough to keep him warm. Suddenly the smell of fresh blood reached his nostrils. “Blood?” He sniffs more, his tongue licking his lips. “It's hare...” He ran to the spot to find a black wolf carrying the dead hare by the neck. The young wolf immediately noticed Dave's presences.

His head jerks to the young vampire with glowing red eyes. The were backs away, fear crunching in his belly as he realized where he was. The vampire noticed the wolf was different from the normal Grey wolves that lurch these forests. “You're a werewolf aren't you?” Dave asks, curious. He stared at John, thinking John was the most beautiful creature he's ever seen.

John was terrified, slowly nodding his head. “I can smell your fear. Don't be scared, I'm not going to warn the others besides I'm alone.” John stares at the boy, using his ears and nose to see if the vampire was correct. His fear vanished once he confirmed the vampires words. Dave then walks closer “Can-Can I see your true form?” He asks curiously.

John thinks for a few seconds before gently dropping the hare. Within seconds a blue light emanated from John, his human human taking back. He stands, adjusting his thick blue coat and blue jeans. He even adjusts his huge squared black framed glasses. Dave blushes from John's innocent form. “Hey...” John nervously waves. “Sup'” Dave gulps.

“Listening you won't tell a were was here will you...” John rubs his arm nervously, hiding half his face in his scarf. Dave giggles and gets close to John “Only if you do me one favor~” Dave teases, John gasps, “What! But-” he sighs, “Okay what do you want me to do?” Dave hugs John from behind “Kiss me.” he whispered in John's ear. “Kiss...” John gulps.

“Okay I'll k-kiss you...” John turns Dave blushes but John was blushing harder. They both close their eyes as they slowly lean to each other. John quickly gives Dave a peck on the lips. “Is that how a kiss works?” John asks, Dave shrugs "That's how the adults do it” Dave's pale thin fingers rest on his freshly kissed lips.

As they breathed their breaths were noticeable due to the cold. It was now dark and John remembered his quest. “Uh I gotta go!” He transforms picking up the hare. Dave frowns watching John leave “Will I get to see you again” He yells out, John pauses his running. Turning his head to Dave, his eyes shore with sadness as he shakes his head before pelting off.

Dave's heart broke from the answer. This was his first taste of real love. And as quickly as it came, it vanished before his very eyes. He walks back to the village heart broken and without the red rubber ball. John watched as the moon was becoming more visible. Panic reaching him, his time was quickly running out. He forced his body to pick up the pace. Snow flew everywhere as he thunders down the forest. He was close, he could see the warm fires that was warming his village and provided it light.

He enters the camp, everyone cheering as he arrived with a snowshoe hare in his mouth. He drops it by the leader of the clan. His own father named Jake. He transforms back to his human form nervously looking at his father. His twin sister Jade watched nearby. “You did well son. I'm proud” His father answers, shoring calm proud emerald green eyes.

His father stands out, his voice filling the camp “Everyone. This is my son John! He has proven to be worthy to be part of the clan and being his training. He is now part of the hunters.” Everyone cheered and clapped for John. It all overwhelmed him that tears of joy escaped his beautiful azure blue eyes. He did his quest and even got to meet a vampire. One he kissed.

He watched the stars wondering exactly who that vampire boy was. Not even knowing his name. He felt as if their paths might cross again. But by that time will John remember the blond little vampire boy he meet?
