Rejecting "liberation" from the Free Worlds League and Capellan Confederation, these two, strongly affiliated systems united to defend themselves from any incursions. The brutal fighting between loyalist and rebel groups would scar the populace but would cement their independence.

Lasting until the start of the Jihad, the TerraCap Government valiantly attempted to repel the Word of Blake forces, but their militia and mercenary units were no match for the fanatical cults seemingly endless numbers and superior weapons. Despite this the resistance to their invaders continued for many years without any admission of defeat.

After the Jihad ended and the Word of Blake forces had been scattered and defeated, the TerraCap military had been all but annihilated, along with much of the government. Though the Capellans and Federated Suns both petitioned the nation to join them, they instead chose to join the newly formed Republic of the Sphere, showing their dislike for the Great Houses that had abandoned them.
