Tall tree, up to 35 m. Bark of young shoots greyish, later greyish-black, glabrous. Leaves linear, or linear-oblong, somewhat acute. Buds not resinous. Cones cylindrical, resinous, the bracts exserted from the scales, turned up at their ends.
