Whether I agree with you or not, I think it's considered bad form to make the "not deserving of a DD" complaint on the comments page, since the person who suggested it is not the person who drew it. So you can make a complaint, but it's better directed to the DA staff member who posted it.

I agree, and I apologize if my statement offended the artist in question. The only true reason I wouldn't complain directly to the staff member who featured it is because I know my small opinion means nothing compared to the large amount of ..."d'awws" surrounding my comment.

I complained once to a staff member because the art was a copy, and the staff member sided with the artist.
I know someday if (big if there) I ever get a DD, I'd be pretty miffed to see "this doesn't deserve a DD" in my comments. Not that I haven't given that complaint a couple of times myself in the past, but staff members usually say to direct those opinions elsewhere. I guess it keeps DA from becoming 2chan or 4chan. And while a bunch of repetitive "omg kawaii"-type comments can get annoying, I'm just glad they don't have those "thumbs up" or "thumbs down" things... I got banned once on a site because my opinion wasn't very popular and I got a bunch of thumbs down.

Okay this does not deserve a DD, However I looked through your gallery and you are a good artist who does deserve the attention. I don't understand what DA thinks it's doing, people are gonna judge you solely on this and that's gonna be a nightmare >.<

I loved this how in the 3rd grade. This is also reflective of my 3rd grade drawing skills, amped up a tiny bit.

I know it's easy to say "Oh you can't say that art is bad because you can't draw" but that couldn't be farther from the truth. Should movie critics have to have oscars before they can critique film?
