The whole season was full of feels, but I think that scene was the peak of emotions.
Thanks!

I agree, pets are like family members and are just as painful to say goodbye to Poor Sherlock, having to go through that dramatic stuff
You're very welcome

would say caring is not an advantage, but my heart would disagree with that

Our heart will burst anyway, I mean it's BBC. It's Moffat. Something terrible WILL happen so JUST BRING ON ALL THE HEARTBREAK, WE'RE ALL DOOMED ANYWAY.
He did.
I find it fnny that they casted Ben's parents as Sherlock's parents, Martin's wife as John's wife, and Moffat's son as little Sherlock. And... I think Redbeard also belongs to Amanda and Martin but I am not sure. xD

OH GOD I HOPE YOU DID NOT JUST GIVE HIM PERMISSION TO GIVE A CLIFFHANGER BIGGER THAN S2 AND S3 COMBINED
Yeah i was pretty suprised when i found it was Ben's parents as the Holmes' parent
I... i think im getting a new dog. and naming it redbeard.

HE NEEDS NO PERMISSION.
And to be honest, I didnt find S3 cliffhanger that bad. The second one was worse. And I think the first one still was the worst cliffhanger yet, but I started watching really late so I could continue with season 2 immediately, which is why I didnt feel S1 cliffhanger's effect that much. xD
But yeah there will be a cliffhanger again and it will kill.
And hopefully not Mary
I found that really adorable! ;n;
Ben was so amazed by the feedback, and so proud of his parents.
NOT SURE THATS A GOOD IDEA WITH ALL THE HEARTBREAK SURROUNDING THIS NAME

Thank you!
I'm glad we got a little glimpse of Sherlock's life when he was younger, and I surely hope we will see more. Even thought it will possibly break my heart. :>

You're welcome! And I agree. I like that he was the product of loving parents. A lot of people thought it would be the other way around, but I'm glad they went the way they did. That doesn't mean he wasn't a lonely child. I hope they reveal more about his childhood too, though it may emotionally break me.

LazyBasy In reply to cutiekiller22 [2014-01-25 12:03:09 +0000 UTC]
I didn't expect his parents to be so normal, but I like it.
And yeah maybe he wasn't a lonely child when it came to family, but I still doubt he had any friends. Making friends wasn't the Holmes bros area after all I suppose.
Ah well, can't wait for season 4! Whoop!

On tumblr, a psychiatrist says they're both (the two brothers) products of isolation... Translation Mycroft has diplomatic skills because he was firstborn (aka parents stick to schedule no matter whatβ he has to deal with it) and Sherlock is antisocial because of no contact, no emotional development, *parents have in to his tantrums so he learned to throw tantrums* and generally eccentricity.

Oooh I love psychiatrist's insights.
And well, yes that would explain how Sherlock became such a diva.
Still, i prefer his parents to be like this instead of stern, emotionally abusing people I guess...

Yep. You might think his parents are evil or creepy like m, but they were probably just rich, isolated, kept away from children, and their parents might have been out of town... So

I imagined their home to be gigantic and cold, like a manor. But their home looked surprisingly homey and comfortable.
Not really small but not enormous either.
So I'm wondering how much money they have. I guess Mycroft has a lot, being working for the British government, but the Holmes family as a whole? I'm not sure.

darksapphiredrop In reply to LazyBasy [2014-01-27 00:39:09 +0000 UTC]
Not sure. Decent, at least... If they were very isolated, maybe his parents worked for the gov and and to translate or something? I don't know...
I think as a whole it's pretty cool, because... MYCROFT. Heh.

I don't know either. Well Mummy Holmes published a book, I don't remember exactly about what (need to rewatch. " ) but maybe she made a lot of money before she gave it all up to build a family.Β
Who knows.
Maybe we'll find out more eventually, I do hope so.

Yeah, that would be cool. It would feel like we were in the story if we could see both the adventure and the domestic.

Yep, ohhh as exciting as adventures are, I love to see the little domestic bits.
Season 3 was lacking those a bit, imho. There were so many new things happening, that you didn't get a homey feel...
Like in S1 and S2 you saw John and Sherlock hang out at 221B, seing bits of their lives between cases.
In S3 they were planning the wedding, that was somewhat domestic, but it was still something out of the ordinary so it didn't feel 'homey' yet, same when John visited Sherlock after the drug house and Janine was there. I just.. idk, does anything I write make sense to you? OTL" I'm sorry.
There happened so much in S3 so there was little time for some rest.
Like I wish there wouldn't have been such a big time gap between Sherlock fainting thanks to his internal bleeding and the Christmas dinner but maybe that's just me

Of course you make sense. I have a sibling and we don't always thk completely, we jump around so much my parents have no idea what's going on.Β
And I love the domestic parts, they're so adorable.Β
It was a bit packed, but take it slowly. Someone was so emotionally attached and pissed at the directors being obvious to subtleties she understood, she actually stopped watching (=___

My friends and I understand each other without completing sentences.
Sometimes I want to see our conversations from a stranger's point of view, because I doubt anything of them makes sense. But yeah.
Same here! Someone said, they have turned the Detective story into a Story about a detective, and I agree. And those domestic parts are a essential part of that.
I hope there'll be more domestic scenes in S4. I don't think sherlock will be allowed to run around much, unless he's chasing Moriarty, so he'll be indoors very often...? Idk, I'm rubbish at predicting.
Oooh yes it was. I felt so overwhelmed after every episode. Mostly because my brain went crazy because there was NEW SHERLOCK MATERIAL OH MY GOD. It felt so unreal, haha.
And bahhw that sucks. But everyone is allowed to have an opinion, and deciding to stop watching a show is better than continueing and complaining about every little thing I suppose.
