Cuphead grumbles under his breath as he stairs blankly into the distance again, he's always thinking hard about something and never even bothered to put a smile on his face. Mugman sighs and sadly looks off to the side, he's never been able to please his brother as much as he tries. It always seems as if his brother has a grudge on him, putting him through fatal tasks and rituals to make him better and stronger to defeat the demon family.

Tears slowly pour down from his eyes but he quickly wipes it away, if Cuphead was to see him crying now he'd be sure to punish him later. "Mugman," his brother's voice startles him from his wiping. "what are you doing?" Mugman freezes .

"u-um...something was in my eyes..." he says softly making Cuphead hum in response.

"let's go it's time to start your tra-"

"CUPHEAD!!" a girlish voice screams from across the park. A human? A human female in fact calls and waves excitedly, Mugman stares at her confused before looking up to his brother.

'brother couldn't possibly know her,' mugman thought but surprisingly that wasn't the case. Cuphead looked elated?! For the first time Mugman finally saw his brother smiling with glee. He couldn't help but feel weirded out and uncomfortable, he was so use to seeing Cuphead with a stoic face and right now it was so unexpected.

The human girl rushes over to Cuphead and gives him a tight hug, the look on his face was filled with happiness and intense emotions. Mugman continues to stare at the girl and his brother bewildered.

"it's so nice to see you again Cuphead!" she retreats from the hug and her smile widens.

"h-hey...ray..long time no see...how have you been?"

"im fine i've just been here working at a coffee shop and trying to make money so i can go off for college," her eyes suddenly drift onto Mugman. "who's this little cutie?" Muman blushes at the complement.

"that's my little brother Mugboy," Cuphead jokes.

"m-mugman..."he whispers softly to correct his brothers mistake, the girl awes and caresses Mugman's cheek.

"you're adorable," as the girl shows mugman attention, Cuphead stares lovingly at her as if he was in a daze before jumping when she turns back towards him.

"we should really hang out sometime, i mean i know you're inkwell's priest...and you're probably pretty busy with...work...," she frowns and looks away sadly. "but um...whenever you're not....doing anything...or you're free from demon hunting eh heh....um come find me!" she writes down a number and hands it over to Cuphead who gladly takes it.

"i'll have that in mind," he scratches his head and chuckles.

"you say that but watch you'll never call me," she covers her lips and giggles.

"eh...no...i'll never...i promise i will call...whenever i'm not busy," Mugman eye's widen and he starts to frown at his brother. 'he never makes promises!!'

"well i'll see you later," she waves at both of you before leaving.

Cuphead stares at her form until she's out of his field of vision before sighing with a smile then turning to walk back home.

"no training tonight, i need to get all my work done Mugman."

Cuphead and Ray we're childhood friends but got separated due to different goals. Cuphead had a major crush on her but never got the chance to tell her how he felt. Though he doesn't know that Ray is married and has children for his enemy Bendy.
