I don't know if science defines nudibranchs as 'primitive'. I consider them 'evolute' beautiful critters, with so many different species, colors and shapes. But it's just my point of view.

Indeed, a colourful variety of species populating their individual niches, fascinating!

Yes, till now I've always used films. I don't know for the future. Sooner or later I'll have to switch to digital, which means to restart everything again. New camera, new housing, new strobes. And a new fight with unwanted color dominances, so easy underwater.

What do you mean so easy?

I mean that underwater is very easy to get wrong colors. You don't have a clean white and a pure black, so digital cameras rebuild colors in their own way. You have to disable all those automatic features if you want to get natural colors. But it's still easy to have problems with cyan or green, more than with film.

You are right, but digital is more forgiving than film about exposure and wight balance.

Yes, digital is more forgiving and gives you the opportunity to edit your shots, something you always need to do with digital. Still, underwater, is more critic because of light conditions: very often you get a strong cyan dominance, too strong to be fixed. That's why you need a god experience to find the right setup for your underwater shots.
