Here is my application for the Zealots of Discord:

Mirage mist was born in a poor unicorn family and was often picked on as a filly, as she grew up she discovered her special talent which was to create powerful illusions, may they be to alter the senses of perception of an other pony, or to change her appearance to somepony else, she excel at being there, without anyone knowing she is, or even, pretending to be somepony else quite easily. She often got revenge for all the bullying she went trough by making her former tormentors turn against each others. She later chose to use her talent for a living, an excellent spy, when you want an info, she is the pony for you.

She had a special metal tail ring crafted to help in her line of work, the tail ring have the power to create sounds or to alter her voice to match her current form, of course she need a sample of the voice or sound effect before being able to reproduce it, but once she have it, she use this tool to make her illusions even more realistic. The drawback is that if she want to create a distant sound effect she have to aim her tail properly fro the sound to change it's origin point, a keen observer may observe a strange behavior if their conversation partner swing their tail around. (which mean she is "throwing" a sound effect in the distance)

Her current goal is to try and choose which side is right or wrong in this battle between Celestia and Nightmare Moon
for now, she chose to side with Nightmare Moon. She found out during one of her infiltration job in Canterlot how the sister's relation was degrading, Luna wanting to extend the night a little or even have night festivals so ponies of the world could appreciate her night. Yet Celestia never let her sister do any of it.
Mirage Mist believe Nightmare Moon is the manifestation of the younger sister's attempt at rebelling and claim her rights, she is also convinced she might leave Luna's body if she manage to defeat her sister. That's why she is now siding with the zealots of discord, perhaps trough chaos peace can be born again. Unless Celestia can prove she isn't the tyrant Mirage saw, there is no turning back.
