It gives some great advice on housing, caring for, and feeding betas to keep them alive for years. I've used this site in years past and my betas live for a minimum of 1-2 years, though the longest I've had lived for 6 years. They're not too difficult to take care of once they've got the proper setup (*that* is the hard part

Lol- leave it to Lindsay to name her fish something ironic. Like sushi. Other tips for betas- dont put them near mirrors or any reflective surface because the males, in particular, have a tendency to attack themselves, thinking they are other fish. The water tip mentioned in one of the comments was pretty good. It helps to get some kind of little bottle of liquid they sell at pet stores to neutralize the water and make fish like it a little better when it's changed. My roomie had this beta with REALLY gross water. You had to change it nearly every week and it would form this nasty gelatinous surface that the food would kinda stick in if you didnt change it! UGH! It could've just been REALLY bad tap-water that did it, not the fish itself.

omg! that's so cute! ^^ sadly though, my blue betta fish recently died...the good news though is that they are really easy to care for and mine lasted for about 3 or 4 years. so, you'll like him!

i had a betta once, his name was gino.
one tip, make sure that when you clean the water, dont make the new water too hot, the fish will, um, not like it at all. trust me i no from experience
